"Incredibly poor service for a legal firm. You’d expect professionalism and adequate customer service from this type of business, but Solex is far from it. I have no idea how they hold down contracts with mortgage companies. I had no choice but to use Solex to remortgage my property. They were embarrassingly slow at doing every part of the process. They never returned emails and the queuing times on the phone were over a hour most times. I had to chase everything. Their online portal is outdated and often it asked for things that weren’t required for my type of mortgage, but I only found this out after an hour in the queue on the phone. They’d send letters in the portal that you could only open once and if that was on a phone it wouldn’t print in the right format. Once again I only found this out by calling them for the forth time. There was no online help with the questionnaires they send you, and they have very badly worded questions. If there was an issue with the documents uploaded they would send a vague response with little detail in what needed changing (probably further delay tactics) The whole process was so poor. My mortgage broker had to end up calling them to chase why my case hadn’t been completed. The call handler couldn’t even see a reason. They said they would chase the case handler and surprise, surprise, within 2 days of the call it was completed. Solex, You should be ashamed at how you treat customers. You are clearly greedy and taking on too much work for your employees to handle or maybe they are just totally demotivated by how things are run."

"We used Solex back in 2015 to purchase our current home, and they provided a great service back then. More recently in 2022 we decided to sell our property and for ease we are using the conveyancers suggested by the estate agency. Turned out after some initial checks were carried out that there was some important lease info missing. After speaking with Fiona at Solex, they were quickly on the case and by the next day Fiona had sourced all the lease info needed. Then, a few days later a query came up about our title deeds still showing the previous owners mortgage company charge. This was obviously an oversight, but after liaising with Fiona again, she was able to resolve promptly by contacting the old mortgage company and asking they remove the connection immediately. Fiona kept me informed all throughout and could not have been more helpful. Would highly recommend using Solex again in the future!"

Only minor observation was the contact no provided in the communication was different from the number which I have received calls due to which there was a delay if we have to reach them vs they reaching us. "I’m happy with the service that I received from Solex - I was remortgaging via Birmingham Midshires and they managed to get it through in time. I did need to give them a call a couple of times and I found the customer service people to be helpful and proactive. I held back 1 star because their original email ended up in my junk box. I didn’t see it for a week because the company name wasn’t visible anywhere and so I had passed it over as a scam. It would be really helpful if this issue was sorted by their tech team."

Solex team was professional and provided up-to-date information at all times and also made the processes very simple in uploading the required documents for immediate attention & action. Like any other legal firms, the team at Solex was always busy on their job in helping clients, however it didn't stop them answering a call to extend their help when needed.
