"I can highly, highly recommend this salon. I've had 2 excellent massages. The salon is a lovely place and very clean. Staff are really lovely. I have been really struggling with some things lately and I'm hugely overwhelmed by how the massage I had today has improved my wellbeing when I was experiencing dreadful anxiety!"
"Having returned to get my first pedicure in months I had to write a review and Congratulate the team at Cloud Nine for re opening with such care and professionalism. I’ve been going to this salon for many many years and have never ever found them to be anything but excellent. These recent times have been very testing for businesses everywhere and I am over the moon that they have re opened. I witnessed them treating every client with the upmost cate and attention while following every safety procedure they have to, to keep us all safe. Well done ladies."
"Had 30 minute massage and eyebrow tint on my first visit to salon and will definitely not be returning. Despite a patch test 2 days earlier, I had red, inflamed sores around my eyes and on my forehead following treatment. Having sought medical advice, and been assured this was a classic sign of a skin allergy, I began treatment. Reported it to the salon and went in to show them, however getting hold of them is quite difficult. Had to call 6 times on a Monday mid-morning before I could get someone to answer the phone. The same thing happened on the day of the appointment when I had to return because the therapist had missed some of the brows with the tint and had to make a third visit back to get that re-done. No one can tell me what caused the reaction, however, I found it unusual not to be given any paperwork as a new client, nothing to note allergies or medications. Given the pain and itchiness for four days I did return and asked for a refund for the brow tint (not for the massage). The receptionist started telling me that their therapists are self-employed so she would need to ask her if I could have a refund, and as she was busy with a client for the next hour there wasn't much she could do other than phone me later. When I asked to speak to a manager, she disappeared and someone else came back to say they had got permission from the therapist to refund the cost of the tint, however they would not book me in again for an eyebrow tint - hard to imagine that they thought I would want to come back! Overall impression: The massage was average (no smell of lavender despite it being an aromatherapy massage), but spoiled by the noise of people talking loudly outside the door. Clearly something went wrong with the eyebrow tint and I don't suppose I will ever find out what happened. Some feedback for the frontline staff: Have someone staffing the front desk most of the time, to avoid clients turning up when the phone isn't answered. Stand behind your therapists, even if they are self-employed, rather than quickly absolving yourselves of any responsibility when things go wrong. In the case of a £9.00 refund, just return the money - it does not look good to say 'I can't do anything - it's up to the therapist'. You have a manager at the salon, this is what they are for. I booked through you, you took my payment. When you finally agree to a refund, don't follow it up with 'There's no proof it was our fault - you could have put anything on your face after leaving here'. I didn't. Nor was I trying to apportion blame - I simply don't want anyone else to go through the discomfort that I have, and wanted to work with you to see what might have caused this to happen."
"I booked a course of CACI facials at Cloud Nine. The premises are well maintained and both of the beauticians were friendly and professional. The treatments were fine except on 2 occasions when the machine wasn't working properly. I was told this would not affect the treatment but I didn't feel this was the case. I missed my last appointment of the ten, completely my fault, I called to apologise and was fully prepared to pay a missed appointment fee to cover the beauticians time. However, I was told the salon were going to retain the cost of the facial which I had paid upfront. It was suggested I had missed an appointment before but this was not true (I had rearranged two appointments to more convenient times). I confirmed my next appointment each time I left. I feel this decision shows bad business practice. My payment was made in good faith and if treatments are withheld under some circumstances terms and conditions should be displayed on the website. Having lost trust in Cloud Nine, I have since found an alternative local salon who offer a wider range of CACI treatments. These include those the older machines cannot provide. They also have scope to book evening appointments."
