"Just had my first visit so neither positive nor negative. Will see how it goes. Registerd as my vet for my lab puppy"
"I have three pets (2 dogs and a cat) who come to Braid vets, Dalkeith and they're always amazing. They're great with advice, great with my pets (even my reactive one who doesn't let anyone touch him, they work with me to find ways around his behaviour), and they're really quick to give you an appointment and treatment when you need it."
"This greed of this practice is without limits. I questioned a payment for a follow-up visit, which are, seemingly, now chargeable as regular consultation visits. The receptionist, who seems to take everything you say emotionally and personally but should be professional in her responses and attitude instead, said someone would phone me to discuss this. However, it's now very clear to me that once they take your payment, any further conversation ends. Unless, of course, you visit them again to spend more money (by the way, the bill quickly ends up being in hundreds and thousands). I phoned back a week later and although that same unprofessional receptionist answered and probably recognising my accent, she put me on hold because another customer came in! if you fall into disfavour with the receptionist, expect rude behaviour from her so that you can be aware of the fact that you're in bad books with her. After a few minutes' wait, I was finally able to continue with her to be told that the price list is next to her computer and, seemingly, on the website, too. However, I was unable to find the information about the cost of follow-up visits on the web and frankly, I have no intention of looking at what she has next to her computer, not to mention the fact that it'd be difficult to do so because of the plexi screen there. For now obvious reasons, this practice has no tact to inform you beforehand (at the time of booking and/or before the visit) of the cost of the visit, and it's now obvious to me why. Displaying a price list in an easily accessible place at the practice would also be an appropriate thing to do. All in all, not only are Braids the most expensive in town, but also the most greedy and unprofessional. I'm still waiting for that call and I find it unacceptable that it's been nearly two weeks and no-one from this practice had the decency to phone me. So, I cannot recommend Braids Vets at all. Update: three weeks after - still no call"
"We have had our cat sam for over a year with braids vets dalkeith. All the staff have been caring and kind towards him and the service they give is amazing. Always making time to see him promptly and trying to deal with his issues to help him the best they can. Could not recommend enough"
"Lulu the cat who shares her life with me was for a while an all too regular visitor for treatment here. Great care. Great staff. Treatment is not cheap but does reflect the quality of care and expertise you have access to with Braid Vets."
