"Good facilities, good lecturers, the only downside is that the area it's in, Greenock, is quite grim."
"Great lectures in the joinery department but not enough new hand tools and 1 chewed up pozi bit for class up to 14 needs modernization and better funding but great lectures very professional at least some of them"
"The funding office wasn't helpful for me they told me I wouldn't get any funding at all I then decided to phone them later and spoke to another person who said I should get funding so after a while I eventually did get it all sorted they took weeks to get it sorted some people in my class had their funding set up within a few days while myself and others had to wait over a month. At the start of the year its very busy and the staff just rushed people through without looking into each person properly who knows how other people should have funding but didn't. My first year doing an NC course the class was pretty big to begin with and within the first month a few people either quit or got moved to another class those who got moved to another class clearly weren't capable from day one yet none of the lecturers seemed to care about them really struggling until the head of the course was filling in for one of the lecturers and realized that some people shouldn't be here because they are struggling too much. I feel the college let anyone in just to get the funding then move people about later to other classes that will suit their level better. Some classes in NC were pretty pointless they were sort of school level if you're an older adult you will probably find these classes to be the worst ones. NC overall was good all but one lecturer was nice and good at teaching the classes. My second year at college saw me going onto do HNC which out of the 3 years I spent at college was my favorite year the classes were all mostly good along with the lecturers some of my best memories of college all come from when I was in HNC. Out of all the classes and lecturers I had there was one class and one lecturer that everyone hated during the test at the end a few people walked out not feeling confident enough to do the test and therefore throwing away their chance of getting a HNC the lecturer was pretty nasty to our class the whole time. My third year and final year at college now at HND level was easily the worst year our class was pretty small and more people who had been around since NC had now left in the first 3 months into HND over 7 people had quit that pretty much says it all. The classes were okay however the real problem was the college from Paisley were short staffed so lecturers who should have been teaching at this college had to sometimes go and teach at another college so we got someone else who didn't really fully know how to teach. At HND its very important to have the right lecturer for the class but we didn't no wonder so many people left our class. To make things worse the lecturer from HNC who was nasty to us had us again in HND teaching us a class yes you guessed it that someone else should have been teaching but got moved to another college so we had to put up with them again and that made even more people just leave. Overall the college has its good and bad. Most of the classes you will take here will be fine the good lecturers were some of the best I've ever had and were very nice and helpful but but be warned the funding can be a hassle for some people their are some bad lecturers here that are enough to make some people quit. Also don't be surprised if the college sends your good lecturer away to another college and gets replaced by someone who doesn't know how to teach that subject well."
"Nice college some nice lectures but I've now been waiting 10 weeks with no money and no lecture or anyone seems to care"
"Brilliant place to study, with some of the best staff that I have been honored to have been taught by. additionally if you require assistance. i.e a scribe or reader their ELS group (Extended Learning Support) are second to none, offering some of the best help that I have ever received throughout my educational development. thanks to the wonder staff and the support that was in place, I passed all my assessments and now have an HND in Interactive media and web design,"
