"Unfortunately, our child's experience has not been a good one. My understanding is, the past academic year was the college's first year at full capacity and interrupted by COVID 19, the previous 2 years. We had huge expectations, as with our previous attendance to both Oakland's Schools on site. Alas, this hasn't been the case. Oaklands has always gone a long way to support us. Unfortunately, at Great Oaks, I am afraid it has felt a huge barrier, trying to get previously simple medical tasks appropriated for our child, in order to be integrated into the classroom setting. This is not helped by the fact there does not appear to be a 'can do' approach to many other aspects, merely to adapt to a daily routine at a SEN college. I have been shocked several times, the last few terms, to be told our child cannot go to college, with no notice beforehand, when a staff member or LSA has taken absence. If you are a parent considering sending your child to Great Oaks College, I would suggest looking at other colleges before you make Great Oaks College your first choice."
