"Nice ,pleasant,and friendly"
"A great social club, tucked away behind residential buildings on a quiet road close to Bickley. It's certainly a "you have to know it's there" situation, making it feel a lot more exclusive, however a good selection of drinks, friendly staff and a performance stage make this an attractive venue for musicians and performers alike."
"Nice, friendly and easy going people. Good place for a quiet drink with friends and family with some new special events. Last month was a great night with live entertainment from Lee Rivers singing hits from Elvis and loads of great old singers. This month saw the first live country music night with Phil T Williams. Good fun!"
"I,ve visited this establishment a number of times courtesy of my ciu affiliation membership and a finer club you could not find in the area with a well kept bar serving drinks at very reasonable prices plus a diverse mix of members one can turn up and discuss matters such as the correct ratio of sand and cement to make a rendering repair to the latest movements on the stock exchange or perhaps the current political situation in Ukraine the club positevly oozes olde worlde rustic charm with a distinctly bohemian atmosphere if one is in the need of a little liquid refreshment and perhaps an intellectual debate cannot recommend this jewel in a grubby setting highly enough don,t however take my word for it please pop in and obtain a membership form from one of the bar staff."
"Social & Athletic Club, is that a joke?! The only activity this lot do is use their arm for lifting pints & their vocal cords for shouting & swearing at all hours. The club backs on to Wellington Road which is constantly blocked by numerous cars, vans & lorries blocking what used to be a nice quiet cul-de-sac. The patrons of the club have no care for their neighbours at any hour of the day or night. They speed down the road, where children used to be able to play & abandon their vehicles wherever they like. They drink in their on site car park (more of an overgrown wasteland to be honest where fallen fences have been left that way) but they are often found hanging around the neighbouring properties, leaning on residents' walls smoking & talking loudly on their mobiles; not to mention urinating against the walls & fences of local properties or vomiting in residents dustbins! When it comes to kicking out time every local knows about it when the patrons stagger down the road (and often to get back in to their cars to drive home!) having spent 10 minutes outside shouting goodbye to one another with drunk screeching women in tow well after midnight. If you like rough drinking holes where you can socialise with inconsiderate ignorants then this is the place for you."
