"Worst years of my life. Severely depressed when I was there unsurprisingly was penalised for what should have been red flags for autism. Don’t go especially if you’re a black girl. They weaponise African culture against students- so they’re quicker to penalise you if you’re black compared to white counterparts because of the belief you will be beaten- stated fact from Ms Uttely Wright a teacher in the school, they don’t even hide it. 95% of the teachers are just pure nasty right down to even dinner lady’s."
"Absolutely horrible school, The teachers do not care about your mental health. My sister goes to this school and she gets detention for things she did not even do."
"Wouldn't recommend this school at all. The teachers are bully's and are unsupportive. They hand out behaviour points and detentions at the drop of a hat. If your child has problems (ADHD etc) DO NOT pick this school as they certainly will not be supported or helped. For a religious school they should be ashamed"
"I can’t give you a zero, so I’ll give you a 1. Where do I start with this school?? I think the behaviour displayed by some students is extremely awful and the reasons you tell your students off or give them detentions is nasty. Specifically Heard not very good things about a teacher called “miss Allan” so sort it?? Children have been shamed at this school and you haven’t done anything to help it, your lack of discipline and focus on the wrong priorities is beyond me. The amount of teachers that get involved with stuff that DOESNT concern them shows how nosey your staff can be, my niece learnt NOTHING in some of her classes yet when told about her grades she was moaned at when her not learning is due to disruptive children?? Don’t really recommend this school tbh better off starting work early x"
"If I could rate this school 0 stars I would! The start of my experience was okay in Year 7 as all the teachers that actually cared about you and your well-being were still there. Then in Year 8 the Head Teacher (Mrs Connolly) in which was reported for bullying staff in which resigned last year, joined and the school went downhill from there! As a Catholic school the staff do not embody their ethos! The teachers are rude and biased and disrespectful! One my friends was always talked down upon by a teacher by the name of Miss Allen and it happened to many other students!! That is the only one that I know of that is still there, most of the other horrible teachers have left, unsure of whether Mrs Smyth Still works there! She’s horrible at times, especially when you tell her you don’t understand she shouts at you so the whole corridor can hear! It’s awfully embarrassing! We’ve had creeps for teachers which have now left and it’s clear that employers don’t do a background check of who they are employing and was only brought to light by older students. Parents I advise you!! Do not send your children there! I tried to tell my parents from the start but it was until the strikes happened last year that the understood. As much as they tried to turn the school around the damage has still been done! Even the huge backpacks they have to carry! No consideration for the poor kids backs! Many have been complaining about back pains all! Consider the childrens needs is a must and this is what St Catherine’s must do better! Personally I believe it should shut down, however many young girls education will be at risk but if it has to come that so be it! I do not believe it should still run! Parents don’t be fooled by the video on the website! It may seem like strawberries and cream but it is not! The food isn’t good, they stereotype and profile young girls of colour for being a large group as it seems “intimidating”! All young girls of colour ever hear is how they come off as intimidating for just being children! This has to stop! Let young kids enjoy their youth! Parents be aware of all these things! I suggest if any of these issues get flagged up by your children tap them through it and most importantly LISTEN TO YOUR CHILDREN!"
