"I went there for 7 years and loved every bit of it"
"This school is amazing that is why I am rating it five stars. the staff are very friendly and if you are unsure about something in the class the teacher will gladly explain to you. When I first came to this school I was nervous on how nice the children would be but don't worry because I bet everyone fits in."
"Perhaps I have just been lucky , but my 2 girls are not only thriving at this school but they have also made a fantastic group of friends. It is true that the school is a little rough round the edges , however this is being addressed & you can see that teachers , children & parents are working hard to make it a good school. I considered going down the private school route , however I am so glad that I haven’t now. This school still has some old fashioned values which are often not found in many schools now a days , the children learn to care for each other , their surroundings & respect is high on the agenda . Love this school"
"I attended Southborough Lane primary school in 1962 and 1963. We lived across the street- attached is a photo of my sister and I running to school in 1962. I have such wonderful memories of my time there. The teachers were kind and supportive. They instilled values of sharing and politeness I have never forgotten. There was a tree on the grounds, beneath which we children used to form a circle, hold hands and sing traditional songs. It was so all different when we moved to Canada- the only songs sung were from television shows (a luxury we didn't have in England) and politeness was ridiculed by my fellow students. I'm certain things have changed at Southborough Lane since, but I will always retain the memory of my idyllic childhood in England."
"There are a couple of great teachers (literally 2) at this school otherwise I'd have rated it with one star, I keep meaning to write to the governors about how awfully the school is being run, that's next! I have sent three of my children here and the children were treated badly with no respect and realisation of individuals abilities, children are passed through the school and nothing built upon. I only realised how bad it was when I moved house and put my children into another school, too late for one of my children who was completely failed for his entire time there. It is poor organisation, random changing of rules and lack of any convincing authority, covered by aggressive assertions that parents are wrong and the school is right, I don't think you should have to fight for your children to receive education, but if your happy to pay for private tutors and self esteem lessons for your children ( which they will need) then send your children here."
