"Our daughters thrive at Clapton Girls and it is a unique place in Hackney in the sense that they believe in clear rules, confidence and academic excellence (and yes, a bit of fun) that develops from within. Staff is caring and approachable and the intake extremely diverse. They promote both pure academic & more vocational education and respect political awareness & tolerance. The school communicates extremely effectively, both generally and individually. Lock down has been an extremely challenging and frustrating time for young people and online teaching is never ideal, but Clapton tried hard and was just as concerned about their students' mental health as about the girls' academic advancement. We love the school and can wholeheartedly recommend it."
"Even though I do not go to this school myself, from friends and other people I have heard this school is amazing! I've looked on their website and YouTube videos and I can tell you it really does look like an astonishing school!"
"Never took serious reports of SA and the circulation of beheading videos seriously. Also silenced people trying to talk about the people suffering in Palestine and they "didnt want to seem anti-semitic" which is the worst excuse ever. Also sending out letters with deceased parents names on it the same day they have been informed they parent has passed away. No compassion or care in this school. They care more about looking nice to other people."
"I wish there was an option to give it a zero rating but I guess I will just give it one star. My daughter attended this school for 5 years and i have to say I’m not very pleased with the school. My daughter went trough a similar experience that the person above me just mentioned (Katy Bling) at first I thought the school was great I checked the reviews and saw that it was one of the top schools in Hackney and thought it was the best school to send my daughter but god was I wrong. Let me start off by saying that the staff in the maths department are not good at all my daughter who is not the best at maths was left on her own to teach her self as lazy teachers kept giving up on her and instead of providing the support she needed they gave her useless website such as hegarty maths, maths watch and so on to teach her self I don’t understand how lazy teachers got and why they heavily rely on technology to teach the students (which btw the websites are not even helpful) my daughter ended up failing her maths GCSEs due to the school lack of help in the maths department because of that I see my daughter who is current in sixth form suffering everyday and suffering from severe anxiety trying to balance out maths and 3 A levels. There is soo much more that I could go in details on but I don’t have the time today. So to all parents or future kids who are thinking or planing to join this school please rethink your choice I do not want your child to end up like mine suffering trynna balance out her school life due to the school laziness I wish someone would of told me earlier what kind of school this was then I would of definitely not sent my daughter here. PS she’s currently in another sixth form as CGA don’t provide a lot of options for a levels a b tec"
"It's a great school, and I am proud to be part of it. I have had many opportunities to do great things. There is a down side though: the students think that there is a lack of confidence with the teachers, and personally I agree. I think the teachers should be employed because they want to make a difference in the students' lives rather than because they're desperate for a job. Overall, this a great school but there are many improvements to be made."
