"We have two daughters at The Lyceum - our eldest, who after 8 years at the school, will leave at the end of the summer term to start secondary; our youngest also started in Nursery and is currently in Year 2. The school has been through ups and downs but I can wholeheartedly say that it is now better than it has ever been. The teachers are wonderful and work extremely hard to ensure the success of our children. Secondary transfer has gone smoothly this year and every child (and their families) are happy with the options they have. Music at The Lyceum is simply superb, and the quality of the performances is impressive, particularly when considering the size of the school. However, what I like the most about the school is the ethos. Every child is valued for their unique strengths and gets opportunities to show them off, which in turn makes The Lyceum children confident while extremely polite and grounded. It is possibly not the most academic school, but the curriculum is varied and the results are still achieved without the need of being a ‘hot house’. The school is clearly being invested in heavily. The new HeadMistress is great and with her experience, the team she has to support her and the new building, I am certain The Lyceum will become the best school in the area.
