"Very impressed with this school. My daughter travels 2 hours by train to get to this school everyday but she is happier and doing very well compared to the school she attended before which is only 10 mins from our house. I also have never heard of bullying. The Faculty staff know their students and the building is modern and clean. The Principal is doing well running this school making sure that the parents are aware and updated with what’s going on especially in this pandemic. They sent laptops with their students so they can still continue their studies at home during the lockdown. I think the surroundings, the teachers and the students behaviour affects a lot about their performance at school."
"My son completed his studies at the UTC gaining a distinction and all GCSE's. We cannot compliment the school and it's teachers enough. The facilities are first class, the teachers supportive in every way, he was taught in very small classes and loved his time here. It was the best decision to allow him to move."
"My son has started last year in Y10 in this school, it was the best choice we made for him. Teachers are very friendly and very approachable, willing to sort any issues out quickly. It is a small school, therefore the kids have a lot of personal attention. My son loves it here..."
"Coming to this school is one of the biggest regrets of my education career. The schools staffing are not surportive in anyway and only tell you how to complete coursework properly on the day it's due to be submitted. While some teachers are good others are awful. The school doesn't Listen to feedback on how it can be improved and has no help facilities. I believe that I'd be better off teaching myself instead of sitting in a lesson with teachers who act like they don't even want to be there. This school has made me hate getting up in the morning. Don't be fooled by other reviews from earlier on in the year as the school attempted to entice us with a trip but I can assure you quality has completely declined and it started to decline after the first week or two, this was disappointing as I was very excited from my first impression. The only way to sum it up is a terribly run mess."
"My son initially signed up without our consent or knowledge.... We were very surprised to hear he wanted to go into engineering. I feel that only students with a potential to reach the desired results, in subjects needed for a engineering career should be considered. Any other pupil not capable of reaching such standards should not be considered. I feel my son was struggling with his core subjects prior to starting UTC, now this has took valuable time away from his core subjects to enable him to study engineering, and wonder how this will impact upon his core subject results."
