"Great staff advocates of complex needs homeless persons in Scotlands capitol"
"Staff member here didn't know what the local housing allowance was, bit worrying for a homeless hostel. The quickness staff suggest residents complain suggests a effective system where complainants are defamed and shut down. The delay, deny, defend complaint handling approach is most probably in use. Its hard to see where the nearly £3000 a month cost for each person goes, support seems to consists of a 10 minute daily walk and occasional trips to the gym. The place stinks of drugs and the last few Care Inspectorate reports dont Access environment which begs the question did they actually attend the hostel? I wouldn't house a homeless suicidal slug here with some of the staffs attitudes. (Edit) Clinical sharps bins for needles and condoms are listed on the room inventory for every resident. The rooms are tiny with no carpet. The shower in my room had a blocked drain. The assumptions staff make regarding residents regardless of assessment illustrates the high risk of organisational abuse of against residents who are likely to be very traumatised already by homelessness and the reasons for their homelessness. ( I was housed here by a charity with malicious intent towards me. I walked out after one night staff who shouted "liar liar liar" down the phone at me said it was "my choice" dead right I choose to sleep rough) To any residents who know what I'm talking about keep a log of times, dates and short incident summary. Have strength and take heart YOU ARE ENOUGH!!!"
"I lived here when it reopened from renovation in 2004.3 months I stayed with partner.at first great then filled up...a 'wet' hostel then,a drinking room on ground patrolled by social workers. Madness.Drunks, junks, trouble, a kindergarten for addicts, dealers & real death.better than the b&b scene for homeless. Good for Trainspotting & social work training! Don't go. j.e."
"This is a hostel for the homeless and vulnerable people with mental health and physical problems, if I can recommend a place for homeless, vulnerable people with mental and physical problems this is the very best place to recommend, the staff are easy listeners & also do the very best they can but they can only do so much as the rest is up to you & believe me you feel better about yourself. Not only is this a hostel, it's like a hospital/rehabilitation center if you want & let it."
"Great place also great staff the most supportive and positive place I have had FIRST CLASS"
