"Myself and my partner only stayed for one night, but the reception we got was fantastic from arrival to departure. Jamie on the reception desk was lovely and very welcoming. We then went to the orangery for lunch and the staff in there were just as welcoming. After a visit yo the spa we went for a walk around the grounds before heading for a quick drink before getting ready for dinner which we booked in the dungeon restaurant. We were greeted by Ryan who was very courteous. We went down for dinner and the food was very good. After dinner we deceded to have a little look around and ended up in the Library. After a little while we were greeted by Ryan again, and we go chatting about the castle with him, we were then very surprised to find out he had only been working there a week, as he was very knowledgeable about the history in that short space of time. We will definitely be visiting again."
"Positives: stunning grand venue and setting. Food in the restaurant was truly fine-dining quality. Negatives: Service at breakfast time was terrible. There seemed to be 4-5 staff involved but they were mostly huddled together and seemed not to have clear define roles and responsibilities. We had to chase waiting staff down for our order to be taken. Our main breakfasts (aside from toast) finally arrived 65 minutes after we were seated for breakfast. We saw several tables around us who similarly had been forgotten about and complaining. Service in the restaurant was out of step with the quality of the food, but not as poor as at breakfast time. Staff did not know what was in the dishes. Final bill did not have deduction included for the B&B + dinner package. Room was in need of repairs with wobbly electrical sockets and window latches. There was also the continual whine/rumble of an extractor unit for kitchen or spa) 24 hours. Luckily this was white noise that didn't interrupt sleep for us personally."
"My family and I were a group of seven people and we stayed at Dalhousie Castle over the Christmas period. We opted for the 3 night Christmas package plus one more night (on the 23rd). We had an absolutely wonderful time. We were staying at the lodge and were upgraded to suites. The suites were brilliant. They even included a conservatory. The package included meals, all of which were delicious. The activities were great as well. It was only at the last minute we realized that use of the spa facilities were also included in the package. So we couldn't make use of them. They looked after us very well and we would love to return one day. Couldn't recommended enough!"
"A gorgeous castle in the middle or relatively nowhere (or at least it felt that way). The food and service were amazing, and the library is a perfect hideaway to lose yourself in a good book. The grounds are vast, and there's a lovely walk along the river, and what appears to be some mountain bike trails as well"
"The castle itself is very charming and we enjoyed our little room that had everything we needed. The 3 course meal pairing was decadent and well portioned. We had exceptionally great service from Rich at the bar. The water cannon at the spa was a personal favorite. 10/10 recommend staying here"
