"I called for an emergency appointment for a painful broken filling as I was registered as an NHS patient here before the pandemic. They spent 45 minutes doing a clean and checkup and then told me to make another appointment for the filling as she had no time to do it. Surely you'd do the emergency filling first if you only had limited time. Also infomed me when she actually had her fingers in my mouth that the practice was now private! The next available appointment to actually get the filling i went for was almost two months away. I made the appointment because I was in agony and they knew this when making the first appointment but chose to spend the time doing a clean instead of replacing the filling. Charged £95 to leave me in agony. I later found out it was a hygienist I saw not even a dentist. They failed to tell me my records had been transferred to an NHS dentist in Dreghorn when they went private. It turns out they transferred all their NHS patients to Dreghorn who didn't even have an NHS dentist as they had retired. Obviously just wanted us all off their books. By the time I could get to see an NHS dentist the tooth had to be removed. If Kilmarnock Dental had replaced the filling two months before when I asked this wouldn't have been necessary."
"Terrible customer experience. Been a customer of the practice for years. Had absolutely no contact from them during the pandemic which is understandable. However, after months of continued no contact when dentists opened back up, I finally contacted them to enquire about check ups and they booked me in. Called me this week to confirm appointment and slipped in that they were working out of another practice in Dreghorn. Turned up to the appointment and was only informed while in the chair that they were no longer NHS and my appointment would cost considerably more than I expected. Going private is fully understandable, and I respect their right to do so, but the lack of any sort of communication with customers, and the completely disorganised feeling the practice has, shows very little value towards customers. Would have been fine fully private as treatment has always been fine but will go private elsewhere."
"Would not recommend. Felt badly let down when I had a dental emergency due to an infection and ended up at A&E. Discussed my concerns with them. When I went to pay for the removal of the tooth which had caused the dental emergency, the dental assistant (who'd sat in on the discussion with the dentist), said to the receptionist there would be no charge.Later found out they just took the money off a deposit I'd left for lab work on an implant I was going to have. Needless to say I didn't go ahead with implant and received a much better price for an implant from another Kilmarnock dentist."
"Couldnt recommend Kilmarnock dental care highly enough after the results of fixing my chipped tooth. Looks identical to before the tooth was damaged so absolutely delighted with the work carried out by the team."
"Went in during lockdown as an emergency NHS appointment(4 days of no sleep or food). Quickest visit I've ever had in a dentist. I was out on the street within 3 minutes of having my tooth pulled. Wouldn't let me leave without paying even though I was told no charge would be made. Developed dry socket within the hour ( wouldn't have happened if they had explained how to care for the extraction). Called up and receptionist told me she would get the dentist to call back.. Still waiting. I recorded the calls made to them where she stated that it wasn't their problem as I didn't pay the full amount. Had to visit another surgery, who kindly seen me after 3 days of having dry socket and who helped me report this practice for negligence. Awful experience and from speaking to friends, this isn't an isolated incident. Interested to see the outcome for my complaint. EDIT . I certainly have not got the wrong practice, which seems to be your only response to negative reviews! It was the Irish man that extracted my tooth, and I can pick out the receptionist that was there. It's worrying that what happened to me doesn't stand out as an isolated incident."
