"I have curly (3B) hair with balayage, and I love Jan's work. My hair gets lots of compliments. :-)"
"Arianne was so great, so patient and gave me exactly what I wanted !! She explained and gave recommendations at each step and showed me how to style my bangs as I’d never had them before. My hair has literally never looked better and I’m so grateful !! 100% recommend"
"Lori at Hot Head is an absolute hair GENIUS. She has fixed so many of my DIY hair disasters, I leave with princess hair every single time. I wouldn't allow any other hairdresser to touch my hair now, if she ever retires from the hair game I'm screwed. She's the only hairdresser I've been to that does every part of the process, even washing! She's pricier than other "typical" hairdressers but you literally pay for 3 hours of her dedicated time, worth every penny! Hot head is a super cool salon too, everyone is so friendly and it's got a dead chill vibe. Highly recommended!!"
"I am actually using my fiancé’s account to leave a review because I am so livid at my experience here and wanted to make it clear to anyone considering using here for your hair. I booked in with Ava to get my hair done as I hadn’t had my hair done in about 1.5 years. I normally get a full head of highlight when I do and always ask for an ashy blonde toner; I even showed a photo as I needed it to match extensions I had. I went in with total understanding that when getting a full head of highlights, this will not completely match the colour of blonde at the ends due to the length of re growth which I was happy with as I would still be blonde in some way shape or form (or so I thought). When highlighting my hair, I noticed large sections of my hair were being weaved out and it made me a little concerned that a lot of my brown would still be coming through but I thought ‘let’s trust the process’. When applying the toner Ava said she would be applying some golden tone to it to reflect the light... again I listened to the professional. When my hair was done, I felt it was very golden. I wasn’t 100% sure due to the lighting in the shop but the highlights were very subtle and given the blonde that I already had in my hair which was built from previous full heads of highlights, the comparison of where my regrowth was, was very obvious. Ava advised that the next appointment would make the blonde much brighter. I was aware that Ava was very detailed in her application of highlights and so I felt terrible not feeling happy with the results after the time spent on the hair. This was the first time visiting hot head as I am getting married next month and thought I would splash out to get my hair done by someone who always seemed to have fab reviews. I even had a second appointment booked in the week of the wedding I was that confident this would be the right hairdresser for me! The reason I was seeking out a new hairdresser was because my old one was having a career change to midwifery meaning I had to look elsewhere. This hair cost me £200 which was broken down by full head highlights, an olaplex treatment, a cut and style and a toner. I have paid half the price for full head highlights and cut in the past to walk away being much more blonde than this. I contacted Ava that night and was so apologetic because I absolutely hated ‘complaining’. She was so lovely during my visit and I didn’t want to hurt her feelings but I just wasn’t happy with the hair. She replied the next morning and although I could tell she wasn’t happy that I wasn’t happy, she offered me a free 2 hour appointment to add some more foils but advised that due to this being a 2 hour appointment, she would only be applying a ‘light scattering of foils’. I responded saying I was happy with this and apologised again for not 100% loving it. I came out of work today to a message from Ava stating that she had given my message a lot of thought over the weekend and that she felt what I had said was ‘unfair’. She then stated she would no longer be honouring the 2 hour appointment she had previously offered and has removed any further appointments from her diary claiming she doesn’t believe she is the right hairdresser for me, all without consulting me. Correct me if I am wrong but I thought the process of customer service was to give the service provider a chance to do something about the issue at hand? I have never complained about my hair before but felt I could not have been any nicer in addressing this issue and I had to be honest with her as I was dreading my next appointment due to the lack of blonde that was now in my hair. It’s as if she was not happy to accept feedback unless it was positive. And retracting her offer to rectify the issue has just left me feeling it was handled very unprofessionally. Obviously I won’t be back through no choice of my own but after such poor service when feeling I had addressed the issue as well as I could, I’d rather look elsewhere anyway. I’ve attached photos of my hair £200 later."
