"Went here on a typical Monday night for a quick bite. The drinks were something okay, took a while to get them even through the weren't busy and ordered food. We got the Nachos El Classic, The Mighty Meat pizza, and the Bourbon BB King Burger. All of which I would warn you to avoid. The nachos were missing ingredients, were barely warm, and the best part were the tortilla chips it was made on. The mighty meat pizza was again missing ingredients that were on the menu (bacon). The bottom was cooked well but the top had barely melted cheese and "burnt ends that were cool to the touch. And the tomato sauce was not plain in an effort to highlight the tomatoes but plain as they didn't want to bother with the salt. The bourbon bb King Burger followed the theme of the night with having things missing (bacon jam and onions rings). All in all, if you want to have the drinks have the drinks, if you want food go to Gregg's."
"Cocktails and craft are only £3.50 Tuesday-Thursday. Great deal and a a great time."
"I was impressed by its size. I was there to watch the Scotland vs England rugby match and it was a lively atmosphere. I didn't get a chance to try the food, but it looked promising. They had a great selection of drinks and enough bar staff to handle the busy crowd. If you're planning on visiting on a busy day, I'd recommend booking a table in advance. Overall, a fun experience. 5/5 would go again."
"As a student in Edinburgh, The Chanter is a great spot to grab some really cheap drinks with friends. The venue is a great sponsor for societies, the staff are great and the food is ideal for everone looking for a bite. Shout out to Savannah and Aaron for always looking after us all!"
"Nothing more or less than the expected. It is a super pub with good atmosphere and cheap-ish drinks. I would recommend for casual nights with no big fuzz. Consider it as an alternative for Spoon. Definitely avoid food though as it was border line unacceptable and to be returned. Especially the chicken wings that supposed to be their flagship were very bad. Burned and deep fried in oil that was probably overused. Suppose to get the Korean bbq one but the sauce was added on top and it was like from supermarket bottle. Avoid"
