"Really lovely meal here. Really tasty and staff were super friendly. Make sure to book as there were lots of people who had to be turned away. It is expensive for the area but there are cheaper options on the menu, and it's really a place that suits a special occasion. Looking forward to going back again soon!"
"Loved it. Nicely decorated on the inside, I was pleasantly surprised how lovely it was. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The toilets were spotless. And the food was delightful. All our courses were delicious. Can't complain about a thing. Would highly recommend and can't wait to return!"
"Amazing restaurant. The building itself is beautiful and the recent refurbishment has made massuve improvements. The decor is lovely and creates a nice cosy atmosphere. The food was stunning. We ddint wait too long to be served and the wait between courses was perfect. The prices are a little expensive if you expect pub food but The Winton is way more than that! I will defintiely be back and i recommend visiting here if you're in the area!"
"Loved it. I last came here before my wedding 15 years ago and to say it has been transformed is an understatement. The Winton has had a complete transformation thanks to its new owners, Caledonian Heritable. Both extended and also a significant amount spent on the kitchens, this has clearly been relaunched to be a destination pub. The menu has a great selection of very reasonably priced options and you’ll realize it’s even better value after you’ve eaten it given the quality of what you get. We were a party of 10, of both kids and adults and enjoyed both the normal menu and also the Christmas menu. I had the chicken liver parfait which was delicious (and not too orangey) and then the buttermilk chicken burger, which seems very large but is surprisingly ‘light’. Everyone else in our party loved their food. There’s also a good selection on the drinks menu. The Service was very pleasant indeed and we never had to wait too long, nor was it too quick! Overall it’s a great addition to East Lothian and without doubt a destination pub to visit for lunch, dinner or just a drink. The only thing it lacks in my view is a fire!"
"Sunday lunch was a triumph! My clients and I had been chatting about our visit today and I’ll most definitely have a great report to go back to the salon with! My partner Alan had tomato & red pepper soup that was rich, thick and tasted great! My starter of chicken liver parfait was divine, an indulgent and velvety texture That delivered the most wonderful taste! This is the parfait I have been searching for, it can with lovely chutney and brioche, both where a fine match! We both had the roast beef and Yorkshire pudding to follow! Alan’s asked for medium/well done and I asked for pink, oh my goodness! The beef was cooked to perfection, it was so moist and flavourful. Beautifully accompanied by veg, beef jus and horse radish, 10/10. The decor and atmosphere where fantastic too as where the staff! We will be back! Thank you!"
