"You’ll feel in a movie, you’ll feel in a story, A countryside pub in all it’s own glory. Staff is lovely and will make you feel at ease, as you long as you have manners and say please. Food is fresh and cooked straight away, don’t think they freeze, even lemons tastes like they were freshly squeezed. Ideal place to come in a big group and with kids, they cater for everything even for unexpected bits. Even if you keep on dropping the lids, you’ll be able to peacefully ask the bill to be splits."
"I was in a group for Sunday lunch. All the meat eaters enjoyed the roast meals, but I had the fish & chips priced at £15.95 so I was expecting top notch fish & chips. The fish in batter was made with good quality cod and was enjoyable, but the chips were the micro variety and were mostly hard and crunchy with nothing in them - I left half of them. The peas were hard and seemed like they had come out of a tin. It was my first and last visit to the Swan for a meal."
"Booked a table for 3. Ordered 2 calamari and 3 steak pies. The calamari was fine. The steak pie was full of meat and baked in shortcrust pastry. It was a slice if a bigger pie. The veg was cabbage and spiced red cabbage. Unfortunately the plate was swimming in gravy which wasn't very nice and accompanied by really fat wedges, and not chips as ordered. When the bill came it was £84. I was shocked at what was £22 for half a pint and pie and chips. The waitress explained they have started adding a 10% service charge and that it was mentioned in the small print. The text was so small we had missed it, and our attention was not drawn to it. We paid the bill. However it felt like we had been duped and overcharged for what we had. This pub has always been a favourite. Sadly we won't be back."
"We were on our way into Bath to get something to eat and went past The Swan Inn on route and decided to have a quick look and see if they had any tables! Thankfully they did! Pub has a great old school vibe about it which we love. Service was prompt and so was the food. On this occasion I had the chicken burger which was amazing and shared sides of cheesy garlic bread and Onion rings. All amazing! And dessert I had the mixed berry crumble which was so good! Overall we were very happy we stopped off here and will definitely be coming back. And on our way out noticed the pub had a large pub garden which would give fantastic views sitting out in the summer!"
"Stunning location! We went on a quiet afternoon and had the outside space to ourselves. Had a drink and a little walk around the viaduct of which you have a fantastic view of from my the Swan inn. Friendly staff and lovely peaceful atmosphere! Hope to return for food next time!"
