"Service and food is really amazing. Staff are so attentive and lovely. We were gifted the 4 course lunch menu from Itison as a Christmas present and the choice was great and portion sizes were generous. We took our 13 year old daughter with us who got the lunchtime deal. Really good value for money! If you visit please try the frozen limoncello Spritz...it was unbelievable! The only constructive criticism is that the restaurant was a little cold. It was exceptionally cold outside however and I think that didn't help on the day we visited. We will definitely be back with the family. Thank you all for a lovely afternoon Team Barolo x"
"Had the loveliest meal with my husband tonight on a very rate childfree evening. We both couldn’t recommend it enough and it’s been the best Italian we have tried for a long time. Will definitely be back"
"Fantastic boozy brunch, well worth the money and the staff were very attentive and friendly."
"The food is very good but the prices are a bit high for what is offered. The beer selection at their outdoor seating area is really poor, with the only option being a very mediocre and flat Menabrea. The automatic "discretionary" tip is also cheeky - if and how much I tip should be up to me, not an awkwardness-inducing automatic thing. This place definitely has potential, but it needs improvement."
"Disappointing breakfast at Barolo! The coffee was nice, food was edible, the staff were pleasant, and the place is clean. However, that’s where the positive part of our visit ends… it was £8.50 for a small slice of sourdough cut into two with a tiny amount of avocado smushed on them with two cold poached eggs on top served on a wooden plate that was like an old chopping board. The cooked breakfast was £10 with one horrible sausage, cold eggs - it should have been half the price for what was served. The ‘sourdough toast’ was just plain white toast which was cold with ice cold butter portions which were hard to spread- we were not told of the substitution from sourdough either. We did eat all the food as we were hungry, but we did inform the staff at the end and they did nothing - don’t even know if they told the kitchen. I would not recommend this venue, sadly. The french restaurant up the road is much better. Shame, as the decor is nice and it’s close to Glasgow Central station."
