"Amazing place to visit, kids loved it definitely a place to visit"
"My family love visiting the museum and the park enclosed in the grounds, there's loads of interesting local history in the museum alongside giant oil painting of previous owners of the once upon a time estate, the park has lots of variety Including a sand pit with interactive play, a massive climbing g frame with huge slide, a zip wire, a smaller kiddy park for the under 8's and in the school holidays the rides are open, plus there's crazy golf, you can easily spend a full day in the park and museum, you can either bring a picnic or enjoy a snack in the museums cafe"
"Normally a great space but no current big exhibitions on other than 3 rooms dedicated to a consultation; kids were disappointed as they usually love the museum but loved/enjoyed the moth making workshops with Angie Hardwick and her space/exhibition. Also liked the Vintage computer games bit and the Elephant vases made with community."
"A nice museum with friendly staff. They have a number of temporary exhibitions upstairs. The 3 current ones are curated by members of staff who work at the museum who have brought in their own items and chosen items from the museum collection to fit their chosen personal theme. The building itself has some interesting features inside including the original floors which are made of stone that have fossils in and a floating staircase which was modified in the Victorian period with reinforcements. The famous Nelson lion is also there, thought to be one of the lions that may have provided inspiration for the stone lions in Trafalgar Square (he was a resident of London Zoo at the time the stone was carved hence being named Nelson). I was pleased to learn he had died of old age and was not killed to be taxidermied."
