"I have always Rowlands chemist since I returned to Formby nearly ten years ago. The other day I went to see if my prescription from chapel lane surgery was ready. There were two members of staff in the chemist. I assume one was the pharmacist. They were chatting amongst themselves. I waited until I made a sound/ comment. I’ll be with you in a second was the response from the blonde middle aged women. No acknowledgement was made when I arrived. They appeared to be having a private chatter. Not two young girls but grown adults who should have known better. I was eventually acknowledged. I also asked if a text reminder had been sent out as I had not received one. They said they had. To confirm they sent another one out whilst I was there to make sure that they had my correct mobile number. It arrived. The pointI am making is the lack of response and acknowledgement when a customer arrives especially when a person of a certain age should know better. As far as I am concerned this member of staff was unprofessional and had no idea regarding customer service."
"Sadly I find the attitude of some staff who work here very dismissive and arrogant. I called regarding a prescription and she sounded so put out to have to look it up for me. She was then really unhelpful when I was asking for help. Sighing and sounding most put out. This is not a one off either. Boots down the road are exceptional with customer service so I have now moved my prescriptions there."
"The lady behind the counter was so aggressive to every customer ahead of me, and me. There’s really no need. Human factors so important. There are at least 2 other pharmacies within 50 metres. Give them your custom instead. !"
"Were to start, communication is incredibly poor, text messages sent days after perscription is ready for collection, massive store yet 2 in at a time. Whilst I advocate being covid safe this method of filtering means that long queues form in the street with people having to pass by in close proximity. This is not the worst part. The worst part is the staff. They are extremely rude, self opinionated and unprofessional to the point of offensive. I dread when my medication runs out because I will have to run the gauntlet of inadequacy as I queue outside waiting for my turn to be belittled. For a place promoting health and wellbeing its atrocious and I'm looking hard for somewhere that appreciates a person and their needs. Shame we can't rate zero stars."
"Staff are incredibly rude, unhelpful, slow to respond, always ignore the queue, surly, ill informed and the pharmacist didn’t know what a “shielding patient” or an NHS “shielding letter” is during the Covid pandemic. They have a policy during Covid that is dangerous and possibly even illegal. If someone is clinically vulnerable and can’t go in to pick up prescriptions they need to use a volunteer helper to go in for them. Rowlands are refusing to take payment over the phone and refusing to take cash via the volunteer. Instead they are forcing elderly and vulnerable patients to hand over their bank cards and PIN numbers to the volunteers, none of whom have had criminal checks. Then the volunteer pays by card and pin in store and returns the card to elderly customer, no doubt after emptying their bank account. Well done Rowlands, you absolute clots."
