"I visited the pharmacy last week for a prescription. There were at least four staff in the shop and no customers. On entering, not one single pharmacy assistant made eye contact, nor looked up and smiled, even to acknowledge my presence and advise that they would be with me soon. I continued to be ignored for quite sometime, so I left the shop after receiving no acknowledgement of my presence. I presume that one of the staff must have been the pharmacy manager in charge and find it unbelieve that they could allow this behaviour to happen. For a public service, it is extremely unprofessional for staff members working in a chemist not to acknowledge and smile at customers, who are potentially unwell, when they enter the premises, even if they staff are currently doing something. I have worked for the NHS for a number of years and have never witnessed this type of behaviour where people are blatantly ignored, I am not sure if they are aware but this type of behaviour is a form of bullying. This would never happen to a person, or even work colleagues, who come into our building. I certainly will be reporting this incident to NHS England."
