"Went along as an urgent via doctors suggestion and was turned away and informed to go to St helier hospital and I'm 74 and had to get a bus and its even snowing. I had to say I didn't have appointment or form but doctor told me that would be fine... phlebotomy on today wasn't helpful Thank god I had my daughter with me to help"
"Prior to Covid the Surgery was something else, I even complimented them for a terrific work they were doing. Now, I am not sure why it's even open. You can't get through in the first place to make an appointment to see a GP, if you are one of the lucky one's that goes through and is offered one on the day, you are the lucky one. I have tried the online appointment, it offers you an appointment 30 days or more, which is no good to anyone unless it's not urgent. With so many staff and GP's, I am surprised why the service has become so awful and so unhelpful. What is so annoying is that when you finally do see a GP, which is never your own designated GP, the way you are greeted is either "what is the problem" or "so why are you here today"? I mean why does anyone go to the GP, it can't be due to a fun day out, seriously. How does a phone assessment help a patient, when they need to be examined or to show the Doctor something, it's just ridiculous and I don't know how and why the GP's have decided this is the best way forward for patient's to be treated. I am overwhelmingly disappointed with their services and their new system which is no good to the patients and if that is their way of treating us fairly and professionally, they really need to sit down and have a reality check and do a consultation to see how angry and frustrated most patients are. This is not what we are paying for as taxpayer's, this is not how we should be treated and unless people voice their concerns, it will eventually get worse if that is at all possible."
"cant believe the way I was just spoken to on the phone, tried to book a call back from the doctor to chat about something that had happened after seeing the dr yesterday, needed to know whether to keep taking the medication or not and I apparently wasn't worthy of that appointment because I came yesterday. She was huffing and puffing over the phone so I said if its a problem I can call back tomorrow and she says oh well yes it is a bit of a problem, horrible telephone manor, obviously doesn't want to help people."
"My father has severe depression and clinical anxiety and, one day, he went to an appointment once in order to update his prescription. He had to take me with him because my mother was at work and I was only about 2 or 3. He began speaking to his doctor about how he'd been feeling and I knew he was going through a rough patch at that time. He began to have a full on meltdown: bawling his eyes out, shaking, hyperventilating ect. And the doctor just stared at him and I had to go over to him and hug him so he could calm down ever so slightly. At the end of the appointment, the doctor wrote that his prescription and diagnosis needn't be changed and that he "got a bit tearful". I have severe anxiety and BPD and when I was 11, I went to the doctors because they were sure I had severe anxiety as they saw the exact same symptoms as my father has. The doctor asked my parents to leave and when they did, she kept blaming them for how I was feeling. She kept saying things like "Its your parents fault you self-harmed, right?" "Dont worry, theyre not here, theyre not gonna know what you tell me." But, in actuality, it was the result of being bullied for over 7 years and my headteacher being too concerned about the schools reputation to do anything. At the end of the appointment (and after having a huge mental breakdown, begging for my parents to come back in, and the doctor not allowing it) she diagnosed me with mild anxiety. (TLDR) Long story short, this place is a dump and should be shut down immediately."
"Do the Doctors actually follow up appointments, blood test results. The receptionists are rude and you are expected to explain to why you want to see a doctor. Also I wanted to make a complaint to the practice manager but was told you can't speak to them on the phone only by email, is this because they get so many complaints. This practice has gone really downhill since Dr. Hillyard retired."
