"Rude, unprofessional receptionists who seem to take pride in making sure you don't see a doctor. An antiquated booking system which involves you being told to call back, when you do all appointments are gone and you go through this process repeatedly at 8 am and 2pm. Was promised a call back my a doctor after my fourth call, waited 3 days with a serious foot infection only to be told that the doctor was sick and hadn't come in - they didn't think to mention that while i was waiting and by the end had to go to A&E for treatment when all i needed was some antibiotics which could have been prescribed with a two minute phone call. Shocking surgery, which thankfully i have now left. Doctors are nice, if you do every get to see one, but something needs to be done to fix this utter shambles."
"A huge thank you to Miss Andrus and the team who were very supportive in giving my son work placement there. As a student who is keen to pursue a career in medicine, he was able to shadow a nurse, pharmacist and doctor. We are very grateful for the encouragement and opportunity he was given, it was a superb learning experience."
"Spoke to the Indian receptionist over the phone yesterday, it was alright. Went there this morning to book appointment in person for my mum. The white lady (seems to be in her 40s to 50s) came across a bit aggressive. But she made me know bookings are done over the telephone. Fortunately, a minute after the phone lines were opened I called and got an appointment for my mum and this time again It was the Indian receptionist I spoke to and she came across good and that was a nice experience. Would have given 4 stars if the white lady I spoke to earlier this morning had been a bit calm. I feel like she could have come across a bit better. I know it's in the morning and people may have personal issues and that, but being a bit patient would do. Just make sure you call at 8:15am or 2pm or a minute after that and stay on the line hopefully you get an appointment. And I feel like we all could also be a bit patient with the receptionists as they are human after all and hopefully things get better here."
"Awful and absolutely appalling service, my mums life is in jeopardy due to this surgery. Stay away - story below : My mum was sent a text message to call the doctor, so the next morning she called at 8 am. She was put on hold behind 28 other callers. It took 1 hour and 10 minutes to get through to the very rude receptionist who then told her that all the doctors slots have been taken up and that it was mum's fault because she should have started calling earlier. My mum is now very tearful & anxious because she is running out of tablets for her cancer treatment and she can't talk to the doctor."
"Despite the negative reviews here, I had quite a pleasant smooth experience. I visited my local surgery 8:15am, knocked on door, and receptionist got me a phone appointment for later in the day. I agree her overall manner could do with some fine tuning as she has a tendency to come across overly aggressive/defensive - but I cooled down and she did too - a compromise in tonality was eventually met between us (phew). GP/Pharmacist called me at the agreed time, and decided she'd like to take a closer look. The phonecall was very relaxed and friendly. I visited the Sefton Avenue location and the lady GP I saw was extremely polite, friendly, helpful and very clear. No issues from my side, if you follow the process. I did have the privilege of walking to the GP office rather than calling which probably helped mind you, as I know 99% of the frustration is with the phone booking service."
