"I've always had a decent opinion of Mainline Taxis; they have been a part of Harrogate for a long, long time. Last night I had a surprise late night, and decided to walk back from Knaresborough to Starbeck. Halfway home the heavens absolutely opened and I was soaking in minutes. Car 57 from Mainline happened to be driving past, and pulled up. The driver simply said "this weather is awful I'll take you as far up here as I'm going." I only needed a lift about a mile straight up the road - but it's really hard to say exactly how nice that was, and how much it meant to me at the time. These are some tough times, petrol is no cheaper for taxi drivers than it is for anyone else, and I just think this was just a really nice thing to do."
"Terrible service. Arrived 45 mins late and no apology. Told by the office, that this was due to heavy traffic, however the driver informed us that he had only just been assigned the job. Possibly avoid if you need to be anywhere on time!"
