"Last night I attended the walk in centre with my 14 week old son. I felt he wasn't poorly enough to take him to a&e but just needed him to be checked over. On arriving at the centre I was told that he would only be seen by a nurse practioner who could give me advice as there were no doctors on site at that time. The nurse practioner was absolutely lovely and cannot fault her care and attention one bit but she advised as there were no doctors on site I needed to take him to a&e as he did need to be seen by a doctor. The government are always going on about don't go to a&e use the walk in centres but what is the point in that when you can't see a doctor."
"Visited yesterday with my 6 year old son. Was triaged immediately and told wait 11/2 hours.... not great but ok if that what it was. Returned to our seat and waited and waited and people that came in after us started to go in. So after 21/2 hours I went and asked receptionist. She advised me that my son was at the top of the list but a few priorities were being seen first..... he’s 6 and needed to be treated! Anyway whether it was luck or that fact I’d reminded them my 6 year old had been waiting more than enough especially when at least 5 people that came after us, had been seen! He was then called in next. Nurse was nice polite lady, but I can’t help but feel she didn’t really take into account he was 6! Anyway after our wait, and her trying to treat him unsuccessfuly we left with my son upset and distressed and not having the full treatment needed, so now I will probably have to pay a visit to my gp with him today! I really feel that the service could be good but the planning and organization to treat each individual patient leaves a lot of improvement! I will definitely think twice before using the service again... and use 111 or A&E!"
"Left today without being seen after waiting for 5hrs. When we arrived we were told 3/4hrs wait and it was getting better so may not be that long. I waited patiently for 3.53(so the receptionist told me) before I asked were we were in the queue as id noticed several people who came in hours after us going in. I was told there was one person( attitude as though to say so dont complain) who had been there longer than me but I had four people in front of me as people are seen in order of urgency. Fair enough until 8 names later (not all of which had waited) were called and still no sign of us going in. What I would like to know is when they call a name and nobody comes why it takes upto 30 minutes to see that nurse / doctor again, on several occasions this happened and the nurse went back into their room and didnt call a new person, what do they do, surley if they were free for the person who is no longer there they are free for the next person on the list to been seen?"
"It is at times very busy but that is sometimes because we cannot get into a GP and we all get told A&E is busy. In my experience staff are helpful and deal as promptly as they can but if an emergency comes in waits can change from what you're told on arrival. I've never had a problem with the advice and/or treatment I've had there."
