"We have recently moved to Wickersley from Worksop into the new build houses. Until tonight we have had nothing but positive experiences, (the Christmas lights switch on was fantastic!) but today we went into Wickersley social club and there our good experiences came crashing down (we are two adults no children). We were mortified to witness a group of people being told to leave because their dress wasn’t acceptable. Since when did men in work clothes in a working men’s club become unacceptable!! (We have evidence of patrons being told they are filthy) It was difficult to watch members of the ‘committee’ become aggressive towards a man who had quite clearly been at work all day, and obviously put quite a few £ behind the bar! We have decided this atmosphere isn’t for us and will be looking elsewhere for our weekend drinks. Totally disappointed in the outcome as the two families had young ones who seemed traumatised by the actions of adults!."
