"Rude and unhelpful staff. Limited selection of products even for an express Tesco"
"I have never witnessed such a delightful display of dedication in the quest for a creme egg. After asking one staff member if the Cadbury’s classic was available in the Hampstead Tesco establishment, the whole team were quickly on board with the mission. Without one titbit of tardiness, a tactical Tesco team were carrying out their own non-Easter-Easter-egg hunt. We were in fact already walking out the door with an alternative chocolatey treat, when the distant shout of ‘CREME EGG’ fell blissfuly into our ears. The hunt had been eggsecuted with nothing but professionalism and speed. We returned to the check out to make the purchase, and we will certainly be returning again, be it for chocolatey-based egg purchases or otherwise. The eggstra mile and more. Bravo"
"I'm beyond frustrated with this store now. We've lived in Hampstead for 2 years and the staff are just awful every single time we’ve shopped there. They’re just terrible with customer interactions and it just feels as if we’re making their lives a living hell whenever we buys things or have a query. I don’t know a single person that has had a good experience there. I’m utterly fed up with the poor attitude that the staff have all the bloody time. It’s always being restocked at peak times making it impossible actually shop as the tall restocking trolleys and crates pretty much block the aisles. Self checkouts are always signed out at the busiest times and idle staff members never bother to get them working again which creates stupidly long queues, which in turn makes it harder to navigate around the store past the queuing customers. The returns service barely ever works as the label machine has always miraculously run out. We tried to return a parcel a couple of months ago and we were told there were no labels. However, sitting right next to the machine were a big open box of labels. I asked the manager if they could put new labels in soon but they refused saying the store was too busy; the store was dead quiet at the time. I walked out completely baffled. Head office genuinely need to step in now as it’s becoming an insult to the locals that decide to support the store. The amount of negative reviews piling up for this store should be an indicator as to how poor this particular Tesco is being run. The store layout at the front of the store makes no sense either. Please move the self checkouts to the windows then just have a small counter for age restricted items just as Sainsbury’s has done. You could fit another aisle in the current space – some shelves between the pillars and another shelving unit on the back wall. The window space next to the door is always vacant so that’s the place where it makes the most sense for customers to queue. I was really hoping that Sainsbury’s would save the day but sadly their food selection seems to be tailored only to picnics and tourists. I genuinely cannot believe that Hampstead doesn’t have one decent reasonably priced supermarket that caters more to locals than tourists. Head office – please please please sort this store out!"
"This is my local and usually I really like to give the benefit of the doubt but out of all the experiences I’ve had at this Tesco, the majority are negative and the staff are incredibly frustrating. Don’t bother trying to return anything via Evri, the system is usually broken, out of labels or as todays issue - the update was running and therefore they couldn’t take my parcel. They restock using huge cages and blocking up the aisles during lunch and peak times, food is out of date and they are lucky the new Sainsbury’s is sadly not up to scratch either as people are forced to come here yet again. I can also only assume no one at their Head Office ever checks on this store or looks at their reviews because nothing has changed despite the mountain of customer feedback. Do better!"
