"Went to see the famous Ben Portsmouth. Beautiful inside and so clean. The bathrooms were spotless. The Floral staff were very well mannered and pleasant. Looking forward to going back"
"Beautiful intimate venue to see great shows. Been many times over the years and its a beautiful place to see live shows. Only downside is only one set of toilets which makes for some mean queues in the intervals. So bear that in mind! Other than that, a brilliantly clean, well maintained building that display some real quality shows! Love going here!"
"Brilliant, went to see Justin Hayward, live music always a pleasure, nice theatre, very disabled friendly place, local parking nearby,"
"We went to watch an amazing show last week. The venue is one of my favourite places in New Brighton. The staff are always very helpful, food and drink not too badly priced. All in all, a great place to watch a great show."
"Could have been an amazing venue with such potential had it have been planned and organised and executed properly. There was one queue for everyone (even for the ones who already had tickets). After queuing for an hour the first thing I wanted was a cup of coffee or tea. Only to find out that if you go down to the cafe you have to go back to the end of the queue to get back in again! There are no provisions for any refreshments not even a temporary table with urns. No access to water or the toilets without getting back in the queue. The fancy dress system was a shambles. More like cattle herding. It's a good job everyone was well behaved because the Floral Pavilion crowd control was a joke. When you finally get to the cafe you find that it cost 5p shy of £3 for a latte in a take out cup that is more like half a mug in reality. £2.95 for a piece of toast. You'd need to take out a mortgage if you want/need to have anything more substantial. So we left hungrier and thurstier than when we went in. Desperate for the toilet. There were no warnings that you could only pay by cash to get in either so, some people who had been queuing for over an hour were turned away if they had planned on using a card payment and had no cash on them. We were there when it opened so, not like it was the end of the day or anything, and the tombola had already finished. One of the TVs that was wheeled out just played film trailers until it ran out and was then just left on the desk top screen. The other movie room was in a room flooded with daylight onto the screen so you couldn't see it properly. The easy fix would have been to draw the curtains. No announcements were made for film starts and you were only given one leaflet for the group with the plans of were everything was on it. I can't believe how badly the Floral Pavillion hosted this event. The staff were tired and badly prepared for this and cannot be expected to shoulder the blame as they were only carrying out what they were instructed to do by the management. All in all a massive disappointment for all of us."
