"Lovely spacious property, never felt under each others feet despite 8 adults and two dogs! Clean and modern with all the amenities you need. David and Claire were very hospitable hosts and spent time showing us around the farm and chatting enthusiastically about the ins and outs of running a farming business. Highly recommended. "This cottage is well situated in a quiet spot with lovely views across the Coquet valley and over Rothbury. We have been going to this area for many years and have had some great holidays with excellent accommodation in this area. This cottage is generally well equipped and cleanly presented with good attention to detail. A couple of issues: It might be a personal taste thing but we didn't find the main bed to be very comfortable. There was another problem for us, which I accept will not be an issue for most customers, but I feel should be more clearly presented in advance. My wife suffers from arthritis so we had deliberately chosen this cottage as it appeared to have relatively easy access with only a few steps to the main door. A picture on the web site shows the front door with just seven steps and is titled "approach". We were therefore disappointed on arrival to find a further steep set of awkward loose stone steps up from the car park which are not mentioned in the preview. Level access is available from another door but stopping outside that that can be awkward because of the narrow lane outside. As I say, not an issue for most people but having clear information about access is important to some. Overall not a bad place to stay for most people."
"We stayed in Helm Kent for a week in May. The apartment style cottage is in an ideal location with it being around a 10min walk to the town where there are plenty of pubs, restaurants and shops. There are also lots of lovely walks around the cottage complex itself which we found perfect for an evening stoll. That aside we loved everything about our stay."
