"Character Cottages have some lovely properties but dealing with them left a very bag taste in my mouth after they sneakily increased the price on a rental which I had already paid for but had to cancel and immediately rebook (my Airbnb account was linked to the incorrect bankcard). I got in touch with them before cancelling on Airbnb so they had an opportunity to let me know that there would be an increase but chose not to. They said the first quote I got was a mistake and that they couldn't rebook me at the same price - surely I should have been told that before I went ahead with the cancelling and rebooking or they should have taken that extra cost on themselves as it was their mistake and they missed the opportunity to let me know?"
