About the Business
Welcome to Norwich Theatre Royal, the premier performing arts venue located at the heart of Norwich in the United Kingdom. Established in 1758, this iconic institution has been entertaining audiences for over 260 years and continues to offer a diverse range of world-class productions as a point of interest for locals and visitors alike.
Our theatre is located on Theatre St, right in the centre of Norwich. Our theatre is a versatile performance space with a seating capacity of over 1,200, making it one of the largest theatres in the country. We host a wide range of productions, including West End shows, musicals, operas, ballets, and contemporary dramas. Our programme is carefully curated to cater to a diverse audience, including families, students, and theatre lovers of all ages.
Norwich Theatre Royal is equally renowned for its community outreach and education programme. We have a longstanding commitment to promoting the arts and engaging with local communities, schools, and universities. Through our education programme, we offer a wide range of workshops, projects, and training opportunities for aspiring actors, directors, and writers.
In addition to our theatre, we also operate a thriving bar and restaurant, Stage Two. This is the perfect spot for pre-show drinks, meals, and snacks, offering a range of locally-sourced food and drinks in a relaxed, contemporary setting.
We are proud of our rich history, vibrant cultural programme, and outstanding facilities, and we warmly welcome you to experience the magic of Norwich Theatre Royal. Visit us today and immerse yourself in the world-class entertainment and community spirit that defines our institution.

"First time here. Staff friendly and helpful. Well kept and clean meeting, bar and toilet areas. "Cher - the musical" was well produced and played out over Cher's career with 3 "Cher's" - one for each stage if her life/career. All 3 "Cher's" were so true to life you had to "Believe"!(see what I did there?) Well worth seeing, if in your area!"
"What a beautiful theatre, have been coming since I was a kid but today was the first time I been in years. Staff were friendly and everything seemed reasonable priced. Very impressed :-)"
"Love the Norwich Theatre Royal. We saw Les Mis there which was very impressive. Comfortable seats with good views. The attached pic is the view from Rear Circle Row R, seat 18. Easy to get to. A couple of minutes from Chapelfield and a bit over 5 minute walk from The Mall. Already got tickets for a couple more shows."
"Was here tonight with the better half to watch Magic Goes Wrong. It was absolutely hilarious! I didn’t stop laughing the whole time! It was clean and tidy, staff were really friendly. My only issue with the theatre is the parking situation!"
"Great entertainment - came for panto 03.01.2022 and was not disappointed. Very modern building inside which was unexpected. The show was delayed for 30 mins due to a main cast member isolating but there were plenty of announcements. Programmes were £3.50, light spinners £6, light up cat ear Hairbands £4, hand clappers £2. Small bar serving drinks and a small selection of nibbles. Didn't go upstairs as didn't need to. Lots of loos. Helpful ushers. Sat in the Prelude restaurant during the delay. Not serving food/meals. Toilets and lift next to prelude restaurant."
