"Incompetent and unprofessional. I requested a quote for 32 square metres of composite cladding, my customer was happy with the price so we went ahead with the order. I started fitting the panels when I started to realise there wasn’t going to be enough. It turns out they quoted for 23 square metres instead of 32 and wanted another £900 for the rest of the materials. If you don’t want to be held to ransom in order to complete your job use someone else."

"Bought some Yellow Balau. Big investment for me. Sales staff very friendly and warehouse staff maybe even more so. The quality of the wood was fantastic and looks great on my decking. Wood is wood so will have some imperfections and characteristics. I had an issue with a couple of boards warping but the issue was resolved quickly. In hindsight i should have spent more time inspecting the boards on collection. Everyone that’s seen the wood has been very impressed and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend. Remember this is a timber business and doesn’t have the staff capacity of the major diy outlets. I even had a call to say don’t turn up before 2 on the Monday as they had big orders to get out and didn’t want to keep me waiting around which I appreciated. Will be using again."

"BE CAREFUL , We bought a large quantity of Balau Decking over a few orders, the quality was very patchy with some orders good, others were awful with wood filler, marked etc and needed a lot of work to improve the standard. There is no evidence of quality control - ( the manager said as much when challenged) . On the last order boards were only 140mm not 145mm wide - ruining the straight lines of the deck and the planned spacing. On complaining I received the worst Customer Service, totally appalling, the worst ever and contrasting to a nice helpful sales team. I have been using other suppliers since - a few quid more but worth every penny. Silva don't deserve my business - I'd AVOID . Also if you pick up an order its dumped on a pallet in the car park, have it delivered and you're taking it off the lorry yourself - they will not get involved. THERE IS NO CUSTOMER SERVICE AT ANY POINT OTHER THAN SALES"

"Awful company. Ordered western red cedar slats through them - was given a delivery date (2 weeks away). They called up on two occassions (the day before goods were due to be delivered) to say they didnt have the stock. They then promised a weekend delivery and no delivery arrived. Right now we are in limbo as to when our project will be completed. Avoid this company at all costs - they'll happily take your money then over promise and under deliver. No compensation, no accountability for messing up your orders (and keeping you waiting around) - just awful. We will never use them again and would advise others against doing so."
