"Whether you're looking for a rainy day activity or just the diversity and wonders of nature you find in the area do check out the caves. If you're tall there's a lot of bending in tunnels but worth it. Plus you get a hard hat. Water proof clothes and footwear will keep you warm and dry. The cafe does a great all day breakfast and the hot chocolate is some of the best I've ever tasted."
"We went with friends today and both families had a fantastic time. The owner was out and about greeting people, dressed as a cave lady, interacted with the visitors and made it more personal. Staff were very friendly and approachable and went above and beyond when showing the children fossils and other stones. The food looked very appetizing and was reasonably priced. We had coffee and cake as there was a decent selection of cakes. The caves themselves were fascinating with loads of facts dotted around everywhere, keeping the children interested whilst walking around, topped off with a quiz that the children could participate in and get a prize at the end. Well worth a visit and we will be back again."
"Had a great afternoon at Stump Cross Caverns, I highly recommend a visit. You start by having a safety brief but also information on the cave which was well presented. You then head down grab yourself a helmet and follow your map. The map is easy to read and the caves are easy to follow. The flooring off the cave has been made into walk ways making it easier to navigate. The fact that the cavern is easy to navigate means you can spend more time absorbing your surroundings then staring at a map! Also if you see little fairy houses with doors, open the doors it's an awesome little touch! Lastly the food here is FANTASTIC! I would come back just for the cafe if I'm honest. I had a sausage roll which was made in the traditional way with a home made chutney. My wife had creme egg waffles w/ ice cream, my god the best waffles I've ever had! Overall a great visit. Thank you."
"A very old limestone cave system that's worth visiting if you are not claustrophobic. The temperature dropped to 7 degrees Celsius inside the cave and be sure to wear appropriate clothing. Some parts of the cave is quite low and you will have to bend down to walk through. Not suitable for people with weak knees. The cave itself is very interesting due to the natural formation (+ effective lighting) and the exploration activities for the children. Give them a visit if you are at the Yorkshire Dales."
"An absolute MUST visit place, everyone is so enthusiastic and friendly. The caverns are such an interesting visit, especially with the UV torches! I won't add loads of pictures as you really need to see for yourself, it's amazing. You could do a full day out here as they also have a 4k cinema along with the fantastic cafe. Great for children too, they have The Cavewoman on hand to explain about the caverns! The Time Cafe is fab too, all home made dishes with fresh ingredients, a triumph in itself, absolutely delicious. Admission to the cavern was a PR visit but this is my honest review."
