"I have been to the hotel many times and was very pleased. However, this time I was not happy. There was no air conditioning control in the room, the control had a plastic cover over it, so there was no way to control the room temperature. The shower control was loose, came off and did not work well. There was a broken bulb (not just run out broke in pieces) in the standing light. At approximately 6.30 there was somebody trying to open the door at the same time as knocking, it was staff asking about the mini bar - they did not knock and wait they tried to open the door at the same time - which is unacceptable. I intended to tell reception but when I went to check out there was a long queue. To General manager - I note your reply, seems very standard and general, probably cut and paste as there is no specific reference to what I reported. Would be nice to have seen a personal response and even a mention of some refund would have been good. In case you say you have no way of getting in touch I stayed on Saturday 18th Feb, Room 530 to find my details - that would be a personal touch! Thank you."
"Clean and friendly staff with all the needed amenities. The reception is beautiful and a lovely place to sit and work or read but the food from the hotel is not great. Id recommend eating eating at another restaurant close by instead. The gym was quiet but quite dated and was unbearably warm. In sum, its beautiful on arrival but an average hotel after that."
"The hotel is really vast and spacious, with a lovely big bed, a bathroom with a shower and a bath and everything else you would expect - shower gel, shampoo, tv, tea / coffee, desk and chairs. We were so pleased when we arrived and expected a good night sleep. The location is also brilliant as it is right in the city centre. In the evening, the air conditioner was playing up: turning on and off by itself no matter what setting it was on. We tried to sort it and went to bed. Throughout the night, it kept coming on and off, even though we followed the instructions to have it turned off. We could hear the air cons from other rooms turning on and off in the night as well. I believe the hotel would benefit of a whole new air con system, easier to use for guests. As you can see on the picture, following the instructions the air con should have been off, yet it kept coming on."
"Pleasant hotel. Room big, beds comfortable (however on both nights I woke up with a dead arm, so not perfect…), pleasant shower, nice staff, pleasant bar area inside the hotel but also nice seating are outside of hotel. Good location, next to the park and next to the winter garden that you can see though the glass wall of the hotel! Nice view from the window and properly working air conditioning. Cookies for the coffee/tea provided :) Not the cleanest hotel though, we found various hair in the bathroom and dust on the floor. A bit of lack of professionalism and privacy protection. The cleaning service knocked to the door but didn’t announce themselves and we were sure that they were knocking to the other room so initially we didn’t say anything and they just opened the door when we definitely weren’t ready to have “guests”. They came back twice and opened the door once again despite of us shouting… Just unprofessional…. We made sure we locked ourselves after that incident:) There was no “don’t disturb” sign provided until that incident happened. The SPA experience was quite average. We went on the Saturday evening and it wasn’t very busy which was nice but there were just few lockers available after you pass the showers, so you have to carry your bags and leave them unattended when you are taking the shower, it was very strange. Swimming pool was pleasant and not too busy but everything around felt a bit dirty and not really well maintained. Make sure to bring flip flops as floor is extremely slippery and wet. The SPA is nice to have if you are already there but I wouldn’t book the hotel just to use the SPA. The SPA had swimming pool, very hot sauna, steam room, aroma room (steam room), cold shower room with ice in the sink (?), “the experience shower” which was … just a normal nice shower, sun beds, chairs, tables next to the swimming pool. No safe guards (but it was only 1.2m deep), no music, no jacuzzi or any bubbles :( Nice and pleasant stay but probably too expensive (120£ a night), for what you are getting :)"
"Good size room, pretty clean and nice treatments in spa. Staff very helpful and friendly. There was also a good selection of food at breakfast. This hotel is not a disaster but lacks detail you might expect from a 4* hotel. We booked a spa Wellness break. During our stay we didn't get robe and slippers promised. The price was meant to include a two course meal but the limit was £20 which was not enough to cover two courses. On our second night, the menu had been reduced to 3 mains choices due to 65 people dinning! The restaurant had about 4 couples at 7pm both nights! The spa ran out of towels, there was only one bath towel provided in our room and no biscuits on our first night. Small irritating things which add up. Basically an okay hotel but it overpromises and under delivers and lacks feel good factor."
