"A little paradise in Yorkshire. Quirky and isolated . Yet when the tide is out ...it is full of visitors. Walk there from the coastal path ( scary if you don't like heights ) Or around the beach from robin hood's bay when the tide is out. Great food for day visitors. Fabulous accommodation for those staying over."
"Lovely overnight stay enabling a sub zero, moonlit walk on the beach. Staff were nice and friendly and provided a very good breakfast. Everything very clean. Only problem was the room was absolutely freezing. Heating didn't seem to be on at all and no obvious way to adjust. Toilets, kitchen area and corridors all nice and warm but the room itself was hardly any warmer than being outside. Mentioned it to a member of staff the next morning who said they had got a new system and had had a lot of complaints both about it being too cold and too hot. Definitely needs looking into as it would put me off staying again. Difficult to leave the next morning as the road out is steep and was very icy and the car kept slipping back."
"What a lovely surprise the hostel was. We walked with the dogs from Robin Hood's Bay to Boggle Hole, not expecting any facilities at the end. However, there is a really nice YHA, with a warm and welcoming cafe. Lovely coffee and cake in front of the log burner. Great value too! This YHA would put many hotels to shame."
"Brilliant youth hostel, a former mill, in a most amazing location- next to the sea at the bottom of the cove known as Boggle Hole. We took our young children and they loved it and the area. A short walk along the beach brings you to the beautifully picturesque Robin Hoods Bay. Highly recommended."
"Great little find for us. We were walking along the shore, heading to Robin Hood Bay. Spotted this cafe naked in the gap. Spotted for a bite to eat and a drink. Lovely food, lovely helpful and polite staff. Dogs welcome, in the outdoor seating area. They even had dog ice-cream. Toilets are nice and clean. If you intend on continuing to walk along the beach, keep an eye on the tide as the entrance to the beach gets cut off at high tide. Don't stress though if you get caught out, there is a coastal path along the top of the cliffs. Would definitely go here again."
