"Go anywhere else. Almost every time when I need an appointment I face various issues - from telling me to call tomorrow to cancelling the appointment last minute. I am having a long term health condition so I’ve been seeing GP recently more often than ever and its just ridiculous how much I struggle every bloody time when I have to book an appointment. not to mention you have to wait weeks to “catch an appointment”, and then a month or longer for the actual appointment. And sometimes they will just cancel on the day or the day before and re arrange for another month of waiting. Or sometimes a nurse/doc will call only to hung up on you after a few seconds and not even bother to try again so you have to go over the process again. At the reception sometimes you will get through to someone who’s actually helpful and will book what you need, but more often you will just speak to someone useless who will tell you to call tomorrow. Honestly, go elsewhere."
"Receptionists are incredibly rude and unhelpful. If you need access to the NHS App ring Porterbrook instead and they'll sort you out! All the nurses I've seen have been lovely, most of the Dr's have been good too. It's just a shame that you have to deal with the receptionists as you can't book appointments online."
"GPs have been lovely in my experience but reception staff can be horrible felt like I was being told off because of their mistake. I was told I was booked in for an appointment and was never contacted, so ran out of meds. I called and then the lady told me I’d need to call at 8am next day to get an emergency appointment. I did so and no answer, so when I called later in the day and explained this the same lady was really rude and bit my head off saying the lines open at 8:30 and that I should have booked an appointment in a couple of weeks time when I was due to run out of meds. I told her I had done and she made a really passive aggressive comment that she couldn’t see anything. Not nice at all"
"I've only ever had a single positive experience with this practice and it was due to the caring response of the practitioner who saw me due to strep throat. Other than that, they have awful booking policies which can make it a challenge at times to receive appointments, on top of conflicting office hours, and staff generally are really unhelpful. Every other time I have attended, either I've been just told to go on painkillers or something similar, and never is the underlying issue addressed. They have often recommended treatments that go against guidance on the NHS' own website, and I've been spoken down to about issues with my own body that I clearly understand more about. Of all of my issues I've been in for they've successfully treated one. Steer clear of here."
"Hands down the best surgery I've ever visited. I have a degenerative illness and have to have blood tests every two weeks. My GP in Derby said these had to happen in Derby as my Rheumatologists is there however this surgery went above and beyond so I could have these in Sheffield- Saving me three hours every fortnight! Invaluable when you're managing a illness. The staff are incredible. I'm so surprised by the negative reviews but I have to admit I am shocked by the waiting room every time I visit. The last time the waiting room was full of people complaining about hangovers and a large group of girls who were there to discuss their slow metabolism problems because they'd gained weight at uni (one of their friends said- 'well you do eat loads of takeaways'). In my experience they are incredible when there is a serious issue."
