"Took our eldest son for a haircut one week ago and they were brilliant. Based on that experience, we decided to take our 3 year old today who suffers from uncombable hair syndrome so has quite fluffy hair. The 3 barbers all looked horrified when they saw him, which made my partner feel really upset at the time. Then instead of being upfront with her and letting her know they didn't feel confident enough to cut my son's hair, they all lied about only using clippers, no scissors. The other barbers pointed to a more experienced barber -apparently the ONLY one who knows how to use scissors at Oscars - who quite abruptly said to my partner 'there will be a long wait!' It was pretty obvious no one wanted to cut our son's hair at that point, so my partner just left... The whole unprofessional experience left us all quite angry, and we certainly won't be returning to Oscars any time soon. Editing after unapologetic reply from owner: We wouldn't go back in your shop anyway, not after the way we felt today. Sadly the great experience with our eldest one was completely ruined by today's. For the record, our son is not a 'problematic child'. He has fluffy hair. He is calm in the barber's chair. With all these years and years of experience, you could have tried rather than look disgusted. And we never asked for a scissor cut. We just asked for a cut."
