"I can't speak of anyone's experience but ours. As a family of five, using this surgery for eighteen years, we have always found the staff, nurses and doctors to be first class. In an increasingly pressured situation, we have always found waiting times and responses to be reasonable at the very least."
"Impossible to see a doctor. I have a severe cough and breathing difficulties which I have had for 11 days. Polish receptionist actually lied to me about 111 knowing their appointments book and shouldn't have referred me to my GP. God forbid my doctor should help. Newgate now offers a very poor service. I appreciate they're busy but they are badly organised, the surgery itself is very run down too. I will be forced into a long A&E wait when GP should certainly be first call. The surgery has a proliferation of Polish patients in need of their own receptionist and translator and these are constantly in the surgery and not enough GPs. Something must change"
"I called yesterday and spent 45 minutes in a phone system queue to request a letter that I needed for something. The person answering the phone advised I could use a form and I corrected her that no, because I needed the letter for multiple places it had to be a letter. This morning I’ve received a text message from the surgery advising I don’t need a letter, I can fill out a form. Despite the conversation yesterday. On calling to correct them I can’t even get in the impossible queue. Instead I’m just receiving a message saying “sorry you’ve been unsuccessful getting through to us.” Not helpful since I also need to rebook and appointment for a cervical smear which they requested I book and then text me to say was cancelled with zero explanation. Honestly. Worst experience of healthcare ever."
"Please, please improve the means of making an appointment. Trying so hard to follow your request to make online appointments but there are never any there. Phoning, having got through and listened to all the bumph, I repeatedly simply get told I have been unsuccessful and all lines are busy, then cut off. Can this really be the best way? So want to help your receptionists have an easier time and appreciate how hard their job is but oh how frustrating this all is. Please find a better way. It is otherwise such a caring medical centre."
"Family member suffering back pains in July , so we called for an appointment with her GP, only to be told the next available appointment was the 19th August! Had a text this morning to say the appointment has been cancelled. No explanation, no rearranged appointment, not even an invitation to book a new one. Maybe someone else needed an emergency appointment, maybe the doctor just decided they'd rather just stay at home that day (to be fair that's how they operate regularly so I'm surprised we even got an appointment in the first place) but when we've been waiting a month now to get these back pains sorted I expect a better service. Just tried ringing, only for an automated voice to tell me the call has been rejected, probably because the receptionists are always too busy making cups to tea to answer the phone. Started number 20 in the queue and now at number 6 by the time I've finished writing this review, and there's no way they've answered all 14 of the previous calls."
