"Couldnt have wished for better treatment from the nurse led A and E staff. Everyone I came into contact with were couteous, respectful, thorough and extremely professional.Kings Mill management should be very proud they have frontline staff who represented the NHS and Kings Mill in a very positive light. Thankyou"
"My 81 year old mum was treated in A&E Majors last night and how the staff coped is just beyond me. Yet tests were undertaken, results analysed and treatment plans formulated. It was a long experience which I would not like to repeat but it would be unjust not to recognise the hardworking and dedicated team on duty on the evening of the 10th October, 2022. The government are letting these dedicated professionals down and the NHS including EMAS are stretched to breaking point. I send a big thank you to Kings Mill Hospital A&E Majors team and particularly the Doctor who treated my mum."
"Had to visit last week as my back was getting worse day by day. I am already disabled and have been since I was a baby, however I am still only 26. So I went in my wheelchair. The first nurse I spoke to asked why on earth I'd use a wheelchair if I had some ability to walk... very rude and extremely ableist. I'd been sent by my GP as she thought my back issue may be my spine degenerating, the nurse sneered and said 'It won't be that no'. Then multiple doctors misdiagnosed my back, they said my MRI was absolutely perfect, no conditions or problems at all. I had 'probably JUST sprained it'. My rheumatologist saw the scan and it turns out that I actually have degenerative disc disease and facet joint arthritis... I'm disgusted. I tried to put a complaint in to PALs but they wouldn't let me, they said that because someone else had given me the correct diagnosis, why would I even care that I was misdiagnosed and discriminated against?.... Absolutely disgusting. Thankfully we are getting a car this year so I'll be moving hospitals asap."
"I recently attended "The Emergency Department" on May 29th 2022 and would like to thank all the staff that looked after me. Nothing was to much and they were all very kind, efficient and caring. Please could you pass on my thanks."
"Shocking! If you can go to Chesterfield, then do! You may wait longer, but they actually know what they are doing and care. We went to Kingsmill after my 5 year old daughter fell off a sofa and face planted a table, completely twisting her front tooth (she's too young to have lost any teeth) she was bleeding a lot and in a lot of pain. The doctor and nurse in A&E were too busy flirting about the doctor needing "big gloves" to give my daughter a thorough examination! The male doctor was great at checking there were no neurological issues, however I said how worried I was that she couldn't close her mouth, she was holding her jaw oddly and couldn't even sip water. But they just gave us a leaflet on head injuries and told us to go home and ring 111 emergency dentists, which we did... Because she couldn't close her mouth or sip water, they then told us we needed to go back to A&E and booked us an appointment at Chesterfield Royal, we were waiting a good couple of hours, but the Dr agreed the placement of her tooth was all wrong and so referred us straight to Maxillofacial who removed her tooth and were absolutely incredible! I hope you're happy Kingsmill children's A&E. Your ineptitude left a little girl in a lot of pain for many more hours than she had to be. Shocking treatment indeed!"
