"Took my 2 year old dog for her vaccinations, in and out experience, persons next to me obviously having their pet put to sleep, they went back in and then out and before they left the vet was calling the next customer in. Absolutely disgusted! When I went in for her vacine, he weighed her and that's the extent of her health check. I asked a question about her chewing her paws and was told she had a fungal infection, he didn't even lift her paws up, he said he could tell by the colour of her hair! Prescribed a shampoo costing me over £30. He began drinking his oasis orange drink whilst I was still there, very unprofessional! When I asked the receptionist if he was the usual vet I was told he was a locum & wouldn't be coming back. So why did they let him continue if he was no good? I'd have rather cancelled and come back another day! I complained a week later but had already used the shampoo, the practice manager was lovely and gave me a refund for the vaccine and a free health check so I had to returned and didn't need the shampoo as she didn't have a fungal infection but would not refund me the shampoo as I'd used it. Even though it was resolved and my dog had a proper health check, I'll be looking for a new vet!"
"Have just rung the practice to ask for a spay op on my dog, have been told that its avery long wait, over 2 months. I do not wish to give a bad report on the practice, however the receptionist did not allow me to explain my situation. That the dog is a reacue, fear issues with strangers, i have only had her 9 weeks and did not want a set back. Very disappointed i have been with the practice a long time, seems its gone to the dogs . Before dear reader you think i wanted to queue jump, that isnt my complaint, being fobbed off is"
"Attended here with Audrey my cat who had an ingrown dewclaw. Getting an appointment and advised over the phone was easy, on arrival the premises was clean and nice. Vet was lovely and solved the problem in 2 minutes without stressing my cat. The receptionist was fantastic polite and only charged a nominal fee as I hadn't taken up a full consultation. Great vets, my family have used for all there pets and will continue to use for mine"
"AVOID AVOID AVOID Very very disappointed after seeing good reviews. The surgeon there has no manners, didn't speak to me or my partner or explain what he was doing. Didn't greet our dog or offer comfort and lifted her tail to jab their thermometer up her bum. Didn't inform us if the reading came back okay or not. Sent us on our way saying theres no issues he has found, probably just an infection and just gave her an injection for anti-vomitting, said if she still doesnt eat, bring her back. Each visit has cost us a £30 consultation fee plus whatever they said she needed i.e. cream and second time antivomit injection. We have now been twice and got asked to come back the next day. Absolutely no concern for our dogs lack of energy and extreme loss of weight. Bearing in mind I have spoken to this vet to say I want a thorough check, I have just had a family cat die due to vets not checking properly. Seems to be a theme with wrong diagnoses at this place. Wish they could be held liable! Considering the symptoms are: Extreme weight loss within a week, shivering, whimpering, hasn't eaten in 4 days, lethargic and needs help up and down stairs, infection in the mouth and barely any energy to walk. No pain killers offered, no IV for dehydration or blood tests offered. We got two other veterinary surgeons opinions who both voiced their worries and that emergency care is needed. Advised not to wait until tomorrow. We are now at an emergency vets who said they will need to monitor her overnight if the IV and pain killers doesn't help her pull through, and has done a blood test too, waiting on results. Will not return. No people skills which we thought ok you're a vet for a reason... but would you jab a thermometer up a child without explaining to the parents first? No. Update as of 9pm: Out of hours vets at Vets Now in Bury did bloods and came back that she needs intensive care, so moved to ICU, hooked up to ECG as she has very low sodium due to dehydration and can go into heart failure any moment. Vet said we are lucky we didn't stick to Manchester Street Vets advice as she is very concerned with her electrolytes and potassium levels and will need more than one overstay. Pain killers given and she has settled without constant shivering but still hasnt been able to eat. Manchester Street Vets, if your vet is reading this, I am aware he prides himself of over 40 years experience, but he needs to retire now. Its not acceptable to be so careless and not exercise caution considering she hasnt been eating for 4 days, and started deteriorating a week ago. I dont care if he doesnt have bed side manners but the lack of care and advice can cost our dog her life now. I applaud the receptionist who was the only one honest enough to tell us that blood tests are as far as they can help as they are 'short on staff with only one vet'. These receptionist was caring I must say, but the vet, please, 40 years is enough, retire and stop misdiagnosing (or in our case not diagnosing at all) spent a total of £136 for them to come back and say 'tbh we can't help more than just a blood test' And they even wanted us to come back tomorrow to pay another £30 consultation plus whatever else they are suggesting."
"All of the staff have always been very helpful and very caring whenever I have needed their help in sorting out my two little boys Baggie and Charlie (both rescue cats) whether it be for simple things like flea and worm treatments to matters of life and death situations. All pricing of treatments very reasonable."
