"SUMMARY: - Judgemental and hostile treatment - Disrespect of client time (changed appointment time without consent) - Poor quality, high price point I have never in my life written a poor review but unfortunately feel the need to for this service after several poor experiences. Firstly, the hostile, judgemental attitude from most nail techs. If you want anything different from their personal tastes you will be met with looks of disgust and even comments such as 'You really like that?'. They also clearly have favourite clients as I have witnessed some being offered drinks while I have never been despite being a loyal customer until now. If you ask for an alternative colour/shape/etc you will receive attitude from certain nail techs, regardless of how politely and patiently you ask. Secondly, the disrespect for client time. On one occurrence I had my appointment time changed without my consent to a half hour before. I arrived at the originally agreed time and received rude comments about how I was so late which was brought up several times during the appointment and I was refused complete service, meaning I had to schedule a second appointment the next day which meant changing my plans on my last day of holiday from full time work. When scheduling future appointments, comments were made such as 'Don't be late this time'. I had explained that I had no idea the time was changed and even had a screenshot of my originally confirmed time which I showed the nail tech, but received this treatment anyways. I later saw that I had been emailed a notification about a change in appointment time the day before (I use my spam email for appointments so obviously am not consistently checking especially as they normally call) but I never consented to this change. Thirdly, amateur work for astronomical price points. Since I live nearby I go here for convenience, but know London based nail techs with incredible skill that charge less. Oftentimes I have shown references and certain nail techs do not create anything even close, but as I am very shy I usually don't speak on this and pay full price as I am considerate of their time and efforts. However, more often than not I have had gems fall off and chrome chip within days. I have been offered money off for this once but felt too bad to ask at my next appointment due to hostile attitude during. My final straw was my recent appointment for my birthday nails (obviously an important event). They confirmed they could complete the reference picture and this is what was completed (see attached photos). The nail tech was happy to let me walk out with nails like this and I paid full price because I felt rushed out and also bad as she stated she is new to the business. As you can see, the design work is lazy and incomplete (missing and gapped stripes). I would have appreciated the nail tech telling me that the design was beyond her skill level to save me time and money. These were infills yet still cost £60. To fairly balance my review, I have had certain positive experiences such as squeezing me in last minute, friendly chat from certain nail techs and simpler designs being completed well. This being said, I have been very patient and understanding with this business but I can no longer justify spending my hard earned money on general poor service, despite convenience of location. I will not be returning."

"I went to Magic after a nearby salon completely destroyed my nails. I have natural long nails and I’ve been getting gel for the least 4 years. I usually take the colour off and pick a new one or a new design. For me this way my nails are always protected. In the other salon they drilled my nails so much they look like paper. You can see trough them now. After 7 days of painful bending while doing the bare minimum (showering, putting clothes on, etc), I went to Magic. I got an express OPI manicure. The girls were lovely and made me feel very welcomed. The space is very clean and the tools sanitised, which for me is a big deal. After the manicure, my nails are still bending as they’re so thin, however, the girls advised me to get a different treatment next time, to harden them and make sure my natural nails are as healthy as possible. I will continue visiting Magic, and I recommend you to do exactly the same! You get what you paid for, and in this salon you’ll not be wasting you money. They’re truly the best salon in Watford."

"I’ve been having acrylic nails done for over 16 years and this was honestly the best set I have ever had!! I’ve wanted an ombré set for the longest time, and hadn’t had long long nails since pre covid so I was desperate to have the perfect holiday ombré acrylics and the beautiful Eniko came through. I was her last client of the day and but bless her she really put her effort in to make sure every detail was perfect and I LOVE my nails. She has such a lovely and bright personality too which made the experience that muchi better. Cannot recommend her enough and I can’t wait to get my nails done again here ❤️"
