"I'm not surprised to see the numerous bad reviews about A&E as I just had a bad experience yesterday. I was taken to this hospital in an ambulance service late night because of pulse reaching 195. After reaching there, I was asked to wait amidst the so many people who were in the waiting area to be assessed. I was not given any regard at all even in spite of telling I had chest pain, pressure on my left and shivering. They took some blood test and ECG and never told me what it was. They left me waiting for 10 hours and gave me a paracetamol. No explanation was given about my test results or what had happened to me. It's depressing to wait for so long with so much uncertainty especially when you are going through physical and/or emotional pain. The best part was when the A&E doctor and one nurse saw me crying badly, did not give even the slightest care and happily went to check a patient who just came in. Never in my life have I seen healthcare workers with such less empathy and humanity. I understand it could be difficult with so many emergency cases popping in , but I feel when the noble job is done with a little bit of empathy and passion for the job, it would be a wonderful healing place for the patients. I am not completely healed yet, but I'm scared to go there again."
"The fracture clinic has been great. My wait times were very short, everyone was friendly and professional. I was passed around a couple of different areas - fractures, x-ray, back to fractures but the directions were clear and I was never left wondering what was happening. All good."
"Fantastic hospital. Had an appointment with dermatology this morning - the whole process was very smooth (an online system to book, text updates), which kept things simple and easy to follow. I got lost a couple of times in the building - but reception teams were helpful with directions. I saw the dermatology nurse who was very thorough (yet efficient), knowledgable and had a really nice/caring approach (and all was running on time). Very grateful."
"I've really enjoyed my weekend stay in Kingston hospital. The staff are very nice and helpful, the food is not too bad as well. The morphine is amazing (Especially on the IV). I'd break my collarbone again to enjoy the luxury treatment. Thanks again NHS :)"
"The Boots pharmacy at Kingston Hospital is the worst ever! Today I queued to hand in my prescription for one single medicine. I was given a number for collection and told to wait in the waiting area and watch the screen until my number was called up. The average waiting time on the screen was noted as being 20 minutes. 50 minutes later my number was shown as "In progress" whereas numbers issued after mine were "ready for collection". By this time, a huge winding single queue had formed composed of people handing in their prescriptions as well as those collecting their medicines. There was only one single person serving. When I went to the front of the queue to complain that I had waited too long, I was asked to join the queue. By this time I had been waiting for one whole hour after handing in my prescription. Other people were complaining too. It was ridiculous that only one member of staff was serving. Only when I persisted with my complaint in front of others in the queue, the staff member who was the only one serving miraculously brought 2 other staff members to the front to serve. Within 3 minutes, the queue shrunk to one third of its original length. I don't understand why the staff at this pharmacy are so incompetent that they do not have the sense to have 2 separate queues - one for handing in prescriptions and another for collection of medicines. Why are staff hiding at the back when there is clearly a queue winding down the corridors of the Hospital blocking operating theatre beds from being wheeled past. Boots need to train their hospital pharmacy staff in customer service and care and common sense."
