"My 80 year old grandparents regrettably stayed at this establishment last night. The hotel staff supplied their room with one very thin duvet with no additional blankets despite the temperature outside being -3 degrees. The radiator was on a timer with no way of being turned back on so failed to heat their room properly throughout the night. As a result my grandparents were left in a freezing cold room with no way of getting warm so could barely sleep. As I mentioned they are 80 years old so not in the best of health with my grandad recently recovering from pneumonia. Furthermore we had just had an incredibly difficult day dealing with a family bereavement. When we explained this to the hotel staff in the morning hoping to arrange a discount for the awful stay they had, the manager was very inconsiderate claiming “they cannot please everyone” and failed to see how negligent they had been. Any decent hotel manager would have apologised for putting two elderly people in this situation but alas this women did not seem to care. I would not recommend staying at this hotel if you want a comfortable nights sleep with attentive and considerate staff. They do not cater for people’s needs and are dismissive upon complaint."
"The room was ok , but the food was terrible! I didn’t eat my fry because it looked pre cooked to me . I just asked for cornflakes instead. Which were wither really cheap or stale . I left and went out to smoke when the owner came out and asked me about the food . She was very snotty and rude , arguing with me. Telling me she was offended and was unapologetic like I had been the rude one not her . Then on checking out the next day the other owner came out and asked us to explain a picture on his phone . He said that it was our room and showed me a tea stain on the wall. There was a tiny bin under the table and Obviously he couldn’t prove it was us but was rude non the less . He asked me but I ignored him , he then turned to my husband and asked if he could explain it. Basically they turned snarky and rude because I took a picture of my fry and the owner didn’t like it ."
"The staff went above and beyond expectations. During a recent family event held at the hotel a requirement for medical help was handled extremely well. We thank Patsy and her team for this and the fabulous hospitality they showed to us all."
"Expensive, uncomfortable atmosphere. Our room OK, small but hot due to hot water pipes around room. Towels only changed after three nights and we had to ask twice. Management seemed stressed and or unhappy. Bar useful as no nearby pubs or licensed restaurants."
"We stayed here for two nights following an operation so that we could be close to my surgeon. The hotel has some character, it’s certainly different to the many tower block hotels in the area which makes a nice change. It has a cottage feel, but everything is clean and mostly modern. We opted for a larger room as my mobility was restricted, it was a good sized room with an en-suite and our windows looked out over the garden area which is very pleasant. The room was nicely decorated and very clean. There’s also a little bar area downstairs with a few tables and a range of drinks and a lovely fresh looking dining area. I believe they only do breakfast food, however the staff offered us a table and plates and cutlery when we ordered a takeaway which was a nice touch. We will definitely return again as it was quite peaceful considering you’re in a bustling city, a very reasonable price and also offers free parking. There isn’t anything not to like! (P.S one thing to note is that a nearby church rings it’s bells every hour throughout the night. Of course, nothing to do with the hotel, but it did keep waking me up!)"
