"Booked for Christmas eve .The pantomime was Cinderella it was very good , amazing actors.unfortunately when we arrived a lady told us our seat numbers we couldn't find them she took us so far to some stairs .My dad has a stick and has difficulty getting up stairs.she said sorry there's no other way ,which there was he could have gone straight into the theatre from the bottom and walk up to his seat but instead he wasn't at all helped or even thought about how hard it was for him to get up those stairs discraceful. When eventually he reached the top we went into the theatre .when we got to my mum and dad's seats he struggled to sit down because there wasn't enough room for his legs I wasn't happy at all so I told him to come back out because he couldn't sit there all the time sitting sideways .I went to find the lady she just said sorry no more seats available so we ended up on the balcony on some very uncomfortable seats which gave way and then he got stuck it was so embarrassing we ended up paying £66 for nothing I'm so furious about this .There was no compassion felt at all ."
"Fantastic local theatre run by friendly local people. Took our 6 year old granddaughter to see Cinderella it was excellent. Greeted on entry and shown to our seats. James Brandon and all the cast put on a really good show which had plenty of laughs and opportunities for the audience to join in. A really good start to Christmas. Never been disappointed with any of the performances we have seen at Academy Theatre Birdwell."
"Not our 1st visit to this wonderful little theatre and cant wait for next time! Easy to get to, just off M1 j36. Lots of parking with disabled access. We had a fabulous lunch and a few drinks at the bar pre show. The performance, Cinderella was very professional and the sound and lighting effects were second to non. Hats of to everyone concerned."
"We've been to The Academy Theatre now on a number of occasions. It has the most welcoming atmosphere for a theatre, probably because you can feel the family run business culture. Tickets are incredibly well priced and having free parking outside is a real bonus. As well as the visiting shows and acts, we have been to performances by the Theatre's own group and these have been excellent. The new website is fabulous too..."
