"Run, do not walk here... unless it's up the hill then take the walk at a brisk pace. They have recently redecorated but that's not the only reason why. They are now serving Chuck & Brisket, a small menu filled with the absolute best burgers I have tasted. Forget Dead Hippies from Meat Liquor, or Shake Shack. The cheeseburgers here are juicy, mouth-watering and the most delicious brioche meat sandwiches I'vehad in a very long time. The patties taste incredible and are so moist. I couldn't fault it and I was a little sad when it was over. Their skin-on fries transported me to my grandmother's kitchen, for me, a comfort food. I would absolutely come back here, and implore any newcomers and regulars to try their delightful menu, otherwise you would be doing yourself a disservice. You will not regret it."
"Interesting little pub in beautiful area. Nice meal. Really nice helpful barmaids n manager did his best to keep food coming n clearing tables. A little bit too expensive £22.50 4 roast dinner but glad I eventually paid it a visit."
"After several years of not going here we went there recently for drinks. It has been redecorated and is much lighter inside than it was but the selling point of this pub is the incredible view across North East London. Today we went for lunch. My wife had the garlic mushroom starter and treacle pudding desert. I had the roast chicken dinner. The food was great and although I initially thought the portion was small it was spot on. Parking is always a problem here on nice days but I stick with going to the pub then finding the nearest gap rather than plumping for the first spot I find and walk up the steep hills to find a space right by the pub My one criticism is it’s expensive for drinks and food but it is TOWIE Town I’ll let you decide. Attached are the current menus"
"Even to the first-time visitor, there's an apparent distinction between those who work for the pub...and those who work at the restaurant. It lingers - like a whiff of stale fish-sauce in the air and stuck with me throughout service. Once this is sorted out, it might be worth visiting. There's no doubt that they're "trying" to do a good (if not) great thing here. The pub/side restaurant is up a hill in a quiet residential area of Loughton...I'm pretty sure the local residents hate it...and loathe you for visiting! We'd seen some decent local plaudits and wanted to pay a visit. First impressions, parking aside, you're seemingly met with bar-staff who point and grunt - rather than talk, once seated you're met with the (side) restaurant staff who tell you that they don't take orders for drinks (even though there's a cocktail menu on your table)...it takes some polite talking to get someone from the bar to bring you some drinks. Thai food here is varied and pretty decent. Are they doing anything outstanding? No. Are they doing anything wrong? Absolutely not. The place just needs to be a bit more welcoming (when it comes to the complete service)...and refine the food. I would come back...but I wouldn't be overly bothered if I never did. That's not the way you want to leave a local restaurant."
"What a lovely pub, slight out of the way location was perfect. The view from the garden was beautiful and the food well presented and delicious. We were told the burgers were gonna be a bit longer to make sure they were cooked thoroughly which we didn't Mind as the waitress was always checking on us. The food was lovely very yummy burgers and fish cakes I recommend totally"
