"This is genuinely one of the finest pubs in London. It’s a family run pub and feels like being invited into a good friend’s front room for an afternoon of conviviality. With open fires and comfy sofas it is the perfect place to while away a winter’s afternoon. We had delicious home made pizza at very reasonable prices. The chef was very accommodating of my children’s special/awkward off menu requests which was really kind. Highly recommended and so much better than many of the corporate places aimed at tourists in Greenwich."
"Local pub just around the corner, friendly, knowledgeable and welcoming staff. Pizzas are delicious, if you are lucky and they have the apple strudel available, don't miss out - one of the best ever! Decent prices for a Greenwich pub!"
"Absolutely wonderful place - always a warm and welcoming atmosphere from Pietro and Paola. Plus the food is delicious! Had my recent birthday here and despite being heaving (the mark of a popular venue!), they made it special and personal. Thank you, Paula (as Pietro wasn't well that day) xxx"
"Bf told me this is his favourite pub in England. Finally had a chance to visit this place with him and I must say, it's pretty good. Welcoming owner who immediately warm-heartedly greets you with "welcome home" (on the way out of the pub, I notice the sign at the entrance that also reads "welcome home"). Nice atmosphere and great lighting. The eclectic decor is a feast for your eyes. Staff got one of our orders wrong but that's ok, we all make mistakes sometimes. Didn't have to wait long for our actual main to arrive. Hope to visit this place again when they have the live band playing."
"I would like to be more enthusiastic. In the past, pizzas great, and worth the long wait for them to emerge from the kitchen. Last Saturday with overseas guests, we traipsed up Royal Hill -- we arrived 1pm and the bar wasn't even fully open. Who ever heard of that? It did open shortly after, but we had reserved a table at 1pm for drinks and dinner. The food was ordered, but only at 13.45 as the small number of "serving" staff did not seem particularly interested in serving anything. The pizzas took 45 minutes to come, which was frankly ridiculous. No-one really cared (except the customers) and to be frank they were a tad underwhelming to taste, though boy were we hungry. £116 for 5 people. Overall, a disappointment on the day, and we will find other better pubs in and around Greenwich. A pity, as its "Cabinet of Curiosities" vibe was good, though maybe should not have extended to the staff running it."
