"What a gem! Popped in here for an impromptu pint after an appointment at Lewisham Hospital, next door. Have lived in Blackheath for over 32 years but never been in here before. Lovely little unobtrusive high street boozer, lots of nice features inside, some stained glass screen panels, cast iron radiators, traditional furniture etc. Warm welcome at 11.30am from a very attractive mature member of staff, plus a pint of Beavertown Gamma Ray for only £4.90 ( costs £7.00 in the posher pubs of Blackheath & Greenwich!) Only two other customers in at that time, but a nice homely atmosphere and an eclectic but not intrusive playlist coming from the jukebox Gene Pitney, Jim Reeves, Sophie Ellis- Bextor! No cask ales any more, however, but this is perfectly understandable in this day and age. Will definitely be back, thankyou!"
"First time coming here and what a enjoyable little pub, bar staff was lovely , no pool table but has a dartboard"
"So friendly Came in here on a cold night after being told by A&E to "come back in an hour" They let us sit quietly in the corner until our time was up Definitely coming back here on a better day"
"The cultural, intellectual and entertainment capital of SE London. Relax in the convivial atmosphere and partake in the selection of standard beers and lagers. The more adventurous can enjoy the array of guest beers. Imbibe the scent of Palma Violets and Vicks Chest Rub, when you soak in the sight of drunk dad dancing to a cornucopia of 70's and 80"s tunes on the un-live jukebox. The new beer garden (pictured) is a wecome edition. Superb"
