"Thank you for an excellent meal and warm friendly atmosphere. The Caribbean meal was divine - well portioned and flavoured. To finish with a homemade apple pie and custard topped the meal. I will definitely be coming back with my husband and for Sunday lunch. Tuesday pub quiz is also calling. Regarding the condition of the pub - I think this is part of its charm -a very Walthamstow pub with excellent food and service. Linda :)"
"Nice Sunday lunch really enjoyed it. The crumble and custard was divine. I would like to try the Jerk Chicken next time."
"This establishment has a four week waiting list for its Sunday roast, so I had booked a table for two in october to dine in November and we were very much looking forward to it. There was pleasant reggae music in the background, however the venue was cold in our opinion. When the food arrived we both thought that the portions looked larger on the Facebook images. I had the jerk chicken roast, which in my opinion was just OK. The chicken was the main attraction and tasty, the gravy was watery, rice and peas adequate. My partner had the lamb roast and was disappointed that she had only had three roast potatoes, again watery gravy, but delicious lamb. A portion of mac and cheese was added as a side to the mains, this seemed small for the cost. The saviour for me was the rum cake and custard , which was a delight. Ultimately, we both felt that we preferred our own home cooked roasts and as a result we felt underwhelmed and so would not return."
"Food was wicked. We had a Jamaican style roast dinner. The pub itself is really out the way and could use a refurb it’s cold and dark. But the food was good"
