"Standing ovation! We enjoy every aspect of the Pelican experience. Tilly was our waitress and she was fantastic, extremely friendly and she made amazing suggestions. You have to try the lobster pie, it was spectacular! If you love red wine please try the 2008 Mastroberardino Radici Antonio."
"Heard great things about this place but left feeling disappointed. It's a beautiful pub and space but was a rather chaotic and anything but relaxing. We ordered a starter of monkfish scampi to share and then the steak and some sides. Everything arrived at once which was less than ideal and there was not even enough space on the table for it. The monkfish was delicious. We struggled with service and trying to order wine. The rib eye was supposed to be medium but was past well done at the ends for £67. The leeks and chips were good but salty. Choc mousse dessert was nice enough but far too much salt. Decent selection of wines by the 125ml glass and reasonably priced. Could do with a cloakroom as the table next to use piled all their coats on the bench next to me! Toilets poor at 7pm on a Friday, please check them more often."
"The food is the winner here. Amazing lobster and monkfish pie, bone marrow and spider crab starters were superb. Flavoursome carlin peas and smoked potatoes."
"This pub is very gorgeous & cozy! I ordered the squash soup and now it’s my favourite squash soup I’ve tried. I got the Bavette and they only serve it rare which wasn’t an issue but I found the peppercorn a bit overpowering but it was still very good!"
"Better than the average pub. Service was good. We left a bit hungry but prices are decent. Smoked potatoes were a tiny portion and could have been cooked better. Same with the leeks. Bit unfinished"
